who has been with the library for five months, was happy to see a good crowd come to celebrate the tree lighting and the community. Dorthy and Dennis Hodge are newly retired and living in the area full time since August after owning their home here for 18 years. Mrs. Hodge expressed her love of a ”smallish, close knit, Americana community.” Neither had their library card yet, but are looking forward to getting them. Fran DePiano, chair of the Tunkhannock board of supervisors, welcomed the crowd. Tobyhanna Township was represented by supervisors Rachel Schickling and David Scarlett, Sloane, and Calem.
Carbone. Schickling noted, “The lights symbolize knowledge,” and that the library offers an array of activities for seniors, yoga classes and other opportunities for the community. Thanks were given to Trudi Denlinger and her family as the sponsors. Denlinger expressed that the library is “an extension of community for Tobyhanna & Tunkhannock.” Holiday cookies, and hot chocolate donated by Mountaintop Lodge, and reindeer shaped treats were plentiful. Children’s holiday craft packages were given out. The trustees decided to gather donations for a free raffle for gift baskets rather than asking for donations. See CLYMER TREE, page 2
