The Board Meeting started in 2005 on the Sunshine Coast. The event is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and raises much-needed funds for local disabled children and their families, who have fallen through the cracks of Government support and are doing it extremely tough financially.
Each year we draw on the enthusiasm and generosity of the Surfing and Business communities to participate in an amateur surfing competition where the emphasis is on having fun and helping raise funds for the charity. It is also a great opportunity to get businesses together in the water, have a good time whilst giving something back to the community and enjoy the best feeling of helping kids in need.
Local businesses enter teams of four surfers who take to the water in heats to battle it out. The competition is open to young, old, amateur, pro, male and female.
Since 2005 The Board Meeting has raised close to $400,000 for local kids and their families in need. The overheads are minimal to ensure every single dollar goes in
