In 2001, I was working in London, surrounded by the best and brightest in the real estate scene, but something kept calling me home to Perth.

I returned to Australia to find a local real estate industry that was crying out for a more progressive, client-centred approach, in a time when most agents obsessed over their own results, and customer service took a backseat. I was determined to change that, so I took a giant leap of faith and, in a small, first floor office in Claremont, Caporn Young was born. Today, Caporn Young is renowned across the country for providing trusted advice, a superior client experience, and industry-leading results. We´ve certainly come a long way from that one tiny office, but we´re still driven by those values I had in mind all those years ago.

MARKET NEWS 20 YEARS ON: HOW CY HAS REDEFINED PERTH REAL ESTATE It was way back in 2001 when Richard Young made a life-altering decision to leave the bright lights of London real estate to deliver a premium property service back home in Perth. 20 years on and Richard’s own agency, Caporn Young, is now one of Australia’s most innovative and respected real estate brands, renowned for providing the best advice, the best experience and the best results. Richard believes it started with a much needed shift! “When I returned to Perth, I wanted to join a progressive agency but there weren’t any”, says CEO Richard Young. “The real estate industry here was very stale, and there was a low level of professionalism. Agents were very focussed on themselves and their results”, he continues. “We wanted to do something that made a difference so we shifted the thought process to focus on the goals and needs of clients. For us, it was all about customer experience.” So, in a small, first floor office in Claremont, Perth’s first customer experience focussed agency was born.
