Camere Biedermeier (1815-1848) Nel periodo Biedermeier la camera da letto perde il ruolo di rappresentanza per trasformarsi in un luogo intimo e privato, anche nelle residenze piÚ importanti. I mobili che la arredano sono pochi e di struttura semplice. La loro forma deriva dalla combinazione di linee curve e linee rette. Alla ricerca di un effetto complessivo di leggerezza, i volumi di legno chiaro si sollevano su snelle gambe arcuate. Intagli e intarsi sono ridotti al minimo e l’effetto decorativo è affidato al contrasto di colore fra gli elementi tinti di nero e il colore caldo del legno, oppure al disegno creato dalle venature del legno e dalle radiche disposte ad arte sulle superfici dei mobili.
Bedrooms Biedermeier (1815-1848) During the Biedermeier period the bedroom loses its representative role and becomes an intimate and private place, even in the most important houses. The pieces of furniture are few and simply-shaped. Their form comes from a combination of curved and straight lines and the aim is a general effect of lightness with light wooden pieces rising on thin bow legs. Carving and inlays are greatly reduced and a decorative effect is shown by the contrast of the grains in the veneers and the use of elegant briar woods on the surfaces of the furniture.
