Camere Impero (1800-1815) Nel periodo Impero si usava mostrare agli ospiti la camera da letto che aveva un’importanza non inferiore alle sale di rappresentanza o di ricevimento. I suoi arredi sono un esempio di gusto ed eleganza grazie a un’estrema simmetria delle forme. Il fulcro dell’ambiente è il letto: nuovo e molto diffuso è il modello a barca, con spalliere rovesciate all’esterno in curve eleganti. Secrétaire, cassettone e comodini, dalla linea squadrata e imponente, sono costruiti “en suite”: unica concessione alla decorazione, le colonne sul fronte e gli eleganti bronzi dorati che risaltano sulle lisce superfici di mogano.
Bedrooms Empire Style (1800-1815) During Empire Style period bedrooms were shown to guests, thus becoming as important as reception rooms. Thanks to the total symmetry of the furniture, they are an example of elegance and taste. The bed is the main feature of the room, the original and most well-known being the boat-shaped model, with the head and foot turned inside out in elegant curves. Secrétaire, chest of drawers and night tables characterized by a squared and imposing line are built “en suite”. The only decorative features are columns on the front and the elegant gilded bronzes emerging from the smooth mahogany surfaces.
