The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the local government of Bukidnon, is gearing for “Mindanao Vegetable Derby” slated in August this year.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said the program aims to improve the quality of vegetables and productivity of farmers in the 50,000-hectare vegetable and highvalue crop area of Mindanao.
Governor Jose Maria Zubiri said that “Vegetable Derby” would bring the province’s vegetable industry to a higher level in terms of productivity and quality. According to Piñol, the event will culminate on the first week of December to coincide with the Bukidnon’s hosting of the first-ever “Vegetable Festival” in the tribal areas of Talakag, Impasugong, Sumilao, and Lantapan.
