PBBM ASSURES ADEQUATE FOOD, SHELTER FOR ABRA QUAKE VICTIMS Summit 2022 at the Manila Hotel. Citing reports he received, families are asking for tents as they fear for their safety due to possible aftershocks following the magnitude 6.7 tremor. The President said schools remain closed for the day to ensure the structural integrity of school buildings as well as children’s safety. Marcos said the electricity supply in Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur has been restored. There is enough food and shelter for the survivors of the recent earthquake in Abra, President Ferdinand R. Marcos said on Wednesday, adding that he is monitoring the situation in the area. “We do not have a critical problem when it comes to food and shelter. That is the most important part of the relief that we have to provide now for the people affected by the earthquake last night,” Marcos said in an interview after his attendance at the National Information and Communications Technology

The President said he is awaiting progress reports from Abra. “I think parts, the last I heard, the last parts of the – of Abra province have already have power restored,” he said. A magnitude 6.7 earthquake hit Abra Tuesday night, just three months after being hit by a magnitude 7 earthquake. The previous temblor affected thousands of people in Northern Luzon and also damaged several structures. Caraga Infocus • October 22-28, 2022
