POPCOM grants aid to priority LGUs for 2022 The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) is looking on extending financial assistance in the continuing transfer of some services to local government units (LGUs) in 2022. Among the priorities in 2022 is strengthening the institutionalization of the Philippine Population Development Program through the technical, logistical, and financial assistance until 2023. Pursuant to the Department of Finance (DOF) Order No. 23-08 dated July 29, 2008, financial support shall be focused on the 4th to 6th class of LGUs. In which the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur belonged to the 1st class, Surigao del Norte to the 2nd class, and the 3rd and 4th classes were the provinces of Agusan del Norte and the Province of Dinagat Islands, respectively. Meanwhile, the city of Butuan belonged to the 1st class, the cities of Bislig and Surigao were classified into the 3rd class, Bayugan City as the 5th, and in the 6th class were the cities of Tandag and Cabadbaran. POPCOM Caraga remains steadfast in its partnership and linkages with local partners and other stakeholders, public and private.
