The Boston Early Music Festival revives their acclaimed pairing of Telemann works in this fully staged production. Inspired by the Italian comic intermezzi, Pimpinone approaches social class and seduction with stylish slapstick and evocative humanity as the narcissistic Pimpinone is stung by the beauty and barbs of his charming chambermaid, Vespetta. The cantata Ino is a true hidden gem with a thrilling story drawn from Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

Known as one of jazz’s most vibrant emerging artists, Grammy and Emmy award-winning Endea Owens is a Detroit-raised recording artist, bassist, and composer. She has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Jennifer Holliday, Diana Ross, Solange, Jazzmeia Horn, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Steve Turre, and was a member of Jon Batiste’s band, Stay Human, as well as on his Grammy-winning album We Are. Leading her dynamic ensemble The Cookout, Owens delivers joyful, soul-stirring jazz that blends infectious rhythms with a powerful message of community and activism.

Westchester Symphonic Winds

The Westchester Symphonic Winds, joined by soulful soprano Mimi Hilaire, perform a selection of patriotic works that pay tribute to America’s independence including rousing renditions of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Stars and Stripes Forever. This evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over the Caramoor grounds.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held as planned on Friday, July 4 and the fireworks will take place at 9:00pm on Sunday, July 6.

La Excelencia

Spend your Saturday night on Friends Field dancing to the electrifying rhythms of La Excelencia, New York City’s award-winning salsa dura band! “Who turns out the light” is a very special evening-length staged performance of some of the most dynamic, ecstatic, and just plain gorgeous music being made anywhere by anyone. Built around the current tour of their “hypnotically beautiful” (BBC Radio 3) new Grammy-winning album Rectangles and Circumstance , this performance will be augmented by songs from their previous collaborative work Let the Soil Play its Simple Part, as well as an interlude from Caroline Shaw’s cinematic pop duo Ringdown. Recent compositions by Sō members round out this band-generated theatrical experience.

This Grammy Award-winning Charleston, SCbased quintet performs timeless music born from the Gullah culture of the southeastern Sea Islands. Playful game songs, ecstatic shouts, and heartbreaking spirituals can all be found on their latest release Good Time, which also o!ers the group’s first original songs inspired by Gullah tradition.

Caramoor welcomes Music from the Sole, a tap dance and live music company that blurs the line between concert dance and music performance and celebrates tap’s roots in the African diaspora. Led by Brazilian tap dancer and choreographer Leonardo Sandoval and composer and bassist Gregory Richardson, I Didn’t Come to Stay explores themes of immigration and family, and pulses with influences from Afro-Brazilian, jazz, soul, house, rock, and Afro-Cuban music.

Caramoor is thrilled to welcome back the Grammy Award-winning male vocal ensemble Chanticleer, known globally as “an orchestra of voices.” In Music of a Silent World, Chanticleer sings the songs of the natural world — including works by William Byrd, Robert Schumann, Tom Petty, Ayana Woods, and Majel Connery — and gives a voice to the otherwise voiceless rocks and stones and trees and rivers that share our planet with us.

Spend an evening with the multi-award-winning guitarist and banjoist Molly Tuttle, who has earned not one or two but three Grammy Awards since she took the Caramoor stage in 2022. This blazing-hot flatpicker and singer and her band, Golden Highway, are among the leading lights in contemporary bluegrass, with a reputation for captivating live performances.

Bang on a Can Plays

Terry Riley’s In C

A specially-chosen ensemble of players from Bang on a Can visit Caramoor for a celebration of legendary composer Terry Riley’s 90th birthday with a dynamic spatial-specific performance of Riley’s minimalist classic In C, a magical music adventure designed for the grounds of Caramoor. This landmark piece, written in 1964, kicked o! a revolution and introduced the musical style now known as Minimalism to a mainstream audience. The piece inspired many classical composers including Philip Glass, Steve Reich, and John Adams, as well as those in the rock world, such as John Cale and Brian Eno.

Their program distills the essential elements of Beethoven’s musical language into the trio and quartet formats for a presentation of his most iconic symphonies in arrangements that maintain the power and immediacy of his orchestral works.

New Work for 2025

Shadow Essays by Lisa Coons

Shadow Essays (working title) is a site-specific sound walk for, and of, Caramoor: five audiovisual portraits of twined memory and place. Each essay possesses a sonic element (to be experienced via headphones) and a physical one (collage-style musical “scores” in resin). And each belongs to a particular locus within the Caramoor grounds.

Discover the eclectic home that Caramoor founders Lucie and Walter Rosen built for music! Explore select rooms for free during one of our Open House sessions, or schedule a docent-guided tour for a fully immersive experience of all the period rooms. In honor of the 80th anniversary season at Caramoor — which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II — this year’s Rosen House Focus Tour gives visitors new insight into the Rosen family’s experiences during the war. For those who prefer a more casual concert environment, Caramoor o!ers Garden Listening as an option for selected concerts that take place in the Venetian Theater. Listen to the concert broadcast onto Friends Field (audio only) while enjoying your picnic and relaxing with friends and family.

Tickets start at $20 and are FREE for Members and children under 18.

Rain or Shine!

All events at Caramoor take place rain or shine. In the event of bad weather, our outdoor events will move under the Venetian Theater tent or into the Music Room.

Our ‘Child’ concert ticket is intended for youth 18 and under. Many concerts have tickets available for children at a discounted rate up to 50%. Visit caramoor.org or call the Box O$ce to learn more.

Eat, Drink, & Listen

We o!er picnic tables and plenty of space on our multiple grassy lawns for you to spread out and indulge in these treats!

ON-SITE CONCESSIONS

Enjoy a daily selection of seasonal salads, sandwiches, or something hot o! the grill. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are always available! Snacks and sundries are on hand to supplement your picnic, and a variety of ice cream, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages are stocked to keep you cool. Open two hours before every afternoon and evening concert. Members receive 10% o! on-site concessions!

Let us pack your picnic for you! Skip the lines and pre-order a special picnic box from our caterer, Great Performances, for an easy and delicious dining option. You can pre-order online or by calling the Box O$ce.

Take the FREE shuttle from Metro North’s Katonah station to and from Caramoor! The shuttle runs before and after every afternoon and evening concert.
