What Can I Do With a Major in…
Music? Cedar Crest College offers a well-rounded look at the practice, theory and history of music with an emphasis on vocal and instrumental performances. As a music major at Cedar Crest, you will develop your skills in music performance and theory through a combination of classroom instruction and onstage experience. A distinctive advantage of a small liberal arts college is the personalized attention you will receive from our versatile faculty. Our music professors provide a combination of academic skill and experience as professional performers. Because of this background, Cedar Crest’s faculty is better able to focus and enhance each student’s skill instrumentally and/or vocally, while also offering a diverse approach to the discipline as a whole. Each year, music majors and non-majors have the opportunity to participate in two musical performances. Also, applied music lessons are offered to all students who wish to continue with voice or an instrument—or who would like to begin to study voice or an instrument for the first time, regardless of major.
