505 | LONG COVID IN OLDER ADULTS COVID-19 has become part of the landscape of life and healthcare, including geriatrics. As more people survive infection with COVID, we will see more people experiencing prolonged health problems that are new or persistent after having COVID: a condition—or a collection of conditions—known as “long COVID,” or post-acute sequelae of COVID (PASC). How do we distinguish what is long COVID vs. problems due to other geriatric health issues? What can we do to help seniors in our care who experience it? Can anything be done to prevent it? In this session, we will explore what is known about long COVID in older adults, what remains to be learned, and how this knowledge can be applied in post-acute, long-term care, and AL facilities.
