BARCELONA CHAIRS

LIVING ROOM

OBJECTIVE: Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1945 and constructed in 1951 for Dr. Edith Farnsworth, the iconic Farnsworth House seamlessly encompasses the surrounding natural environment into its panoramic living spaces. Originally modeled in Rhino for a student project, this case study was revisited with the intentions to self-improve parametric modeling and realistic rendering skills.

DATA: The model was reconstructed and furnished in 3DS Max Design, illuminated using HDRI mapping, and rendered with Corona Renderer.

OBJECTIVE: This is the second BIM project within a case study that examined the building envelope, structural system, and programmatic layout of the American Folk Art Museum, designed

by Todd Williams & Billie Tsien. This project assimilates the museum’s design components into an educational occupancy which features a double envelope façade, large skylights, a two-way slab concrete system that allows for punctured apertures in the floor plates, and full programmatic use of all floors.

DATA: The BIM model was constructed using Revit 2014 as well as all forms of representation.

OBJECTIVE: The final undergraduate studio focused on Amnesty and Humanitarian Rights. My project surveyed the typology of Micronations as a means to seek refuge and liberty outside of existing infrastructure. The Nanonation is the subsequent evolution of this form allowing non-discriminatory global citizenship.

DATA: The five time-based pieces were modeled and animated in Cinema 4D. The Construct included an inset monitor displaying the animations and a light box illuminating the Nanonation form explorations. The Nano Molds were cast in latex and poured with glycerin.
