THE CEDAR SUITE The elegant and luxuriously stylish Cedar Suite has a private entrance, large ornate windows offering an abundance of natural light and French doors opening onto a secluded walled garden. The Cedar Suite boasts its own servicing bar and adjacent quiet room. Holding up to 100 people seated for your civil ceremony, 80 people for your wedding breakfast and 150 people for your evening reception, the Cedar Suite provides the perfect setting for your wedding day.

CEDAR GARDEN Amidst the tranquil manicured grounds of Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa lies the hidden gem of the beautiful Cedar Garden, the perfect choice for an outside wedding ceremony. Surround yourself in our quintessential English walled garden with its evocative colours, floral scents and the romantic backdrop of the traditional handmade oak pavilion. The Cedar Garden can accommodate up to 100 people seated and is one of only a few venues in Hampshire licensed for outdoor wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships.

THE LOUNGE Located in the original Manor section of the hotel, the Lounge is full of traditional English character. Features include a high wood panelled ceiling with original oak beams and exposed brickwork. Along with the impressive Inglenook fireplace, the Lounge is a warm, relaxing haven, rich with natural textures and a relaxing ambiance, holding up to 100 people (60 seated) for your civil ceremony.

THE BEECH ROOM The Beech room is perfect for a more intimate wedding. Licensed for up to 50 people seated for your civil ceremony the room benefits from an abundance of natural daylight and direct access to the Lounge.

Wedding Receptions Wedding Breakfast function suites Manor Suite The Manor Suite is elegant, sophisticated and airy. With French windows which open onto the private, south facing courtyard garden, the attention to detail, candle sconces and seating for 100 guests make this the ultimate country wedding room. The Manor Suite can only hold the Wedding Breakfast and will not incur a room hire if your meal finishes around 6.00pm. For a meal carrying over this time a room hire of will apply. Cedar Suite The Cedar Suite seats up to 80 guests and benefits from its own private entrance. The large ornate windows give the room a naturally bright feel and inviting ambience, with French doors opening onto the private terrace area this suite makes the perfect wedding and evening function room.

The Cedar Suite is licensed for a bar and music until 11.00pm and is the only function suite available for your evening party/reception. The cost of the room is £575 for 2016 and £600 for 2017 including the provision of a private bar adjoining quiet room and private walled garden. We are unfortunately not able to offer an extension of time.

The hotel will not reserve any accommodation unless pre agreed with the wedding coordinator. On the night of your wedding, we are happy to offer 5 Double Manor bedrooms at the discounted rate of £155 B&B per

room Sunday to Thursday and £185 B&B per room Friday or Saturday in 2016 and £195 for 2017. These rooms are not suitable for families. For Friday weddings, additional bedrooms can be booked for one night at a 10% discount. For a wedding on a Saturday or bank holiday, we are also happy to reserve 5 double bedrooms at the hotel’s standard tariff for a one night stay. Additional bedrooms will need to be booked for 2 nights.

The hotel has a no confetti policy except for table decoration. For photos in our grounds we suggest Eco-Fetti (water soluble confetti) or bubbles in replacement of disposable or petal confetti.

Wedding Breakfast costs start from £47 for 2016 and £49 for 2017. Create your own package from our selection or alternatively consider our Celebration packages. We can accommodate up to 150 people for your evening reception and are happy to cater for just 80% of guests attending, prices starting from £22.50. The minimum number of guests charged for a wedding reception on a Friday, Saturday and Bank-holiday Sunday is 60 adults. Minimum numbers may not apply on other days. The Hotel must provide all the catering but you are welcome to provide your own wine. Our normal corkage fee will apply. All our prices are inclusive of VAT.

Booking

The Cedar Garden is available, weather permitting, for celebration ceremonies or renewal of vows (non solemnised ceremonies). Surround yourself in our quintessential English walled garden with its evocative colours and floral scents and the romantic backdrop of the handmade oak pavilion.

Music may be allowed in the Ceremony Room, at the discretion of the Hotel, and with the consent of the Superintendent Registrar. It is the responsibility of the Couple to provide a suitable music system and it is a legal requirement that any music played must be secular. Alternatively, the Hotel would be pleased to help arrange live music, such as a string quartet or harpist.

The Couple is responsible for booking the Superintendent Registrar to attend their Civil Ceremony. Please contact the Superintendent Registrar for more information:

General Public A Civil Marriage or Civil Commitment is a Public Ceremony and it is a legal requirement that any member of the Public who wishes to attend the Service must be able to do so.

Ceremony Content The Couple must agree the content of the Ceremony with the Superintendent Registrar in advance. Any music, reading, words or performance, which forms any part of the Ceremony, must be secular.

Food and Beverages It is a legal requirement that Food and Beverages are not to be consumed within the Ceremony Room for up to one hour prior to the Service.

Flowers The Couple may provide flowers for the Ceremony Room if required. The Hotel would be pleased to help arrange this for you.

For the safety of our guests and staff and as responsible Liquor license holders, we have a duty under the Liquor Licensing Act 2003 to ensure that we have full control over the sale, supply and consumption of all intoxicating liquor on premises at Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa. This said, we instil a zero tolerance policy towards behaviours that jeopardise this control and without warning, will issue a £1,000 fee onto the Bride and Grooms account should any of the bridal party or guests thereof be found in possession of liquor not purchased at Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa. Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa also reserves the right to confiscate any such liquor. The Vintage Afternoon Tea Celebration Package According to legend, one of Queen Victoria’s ladies-in waiting, Anna Maria Stanhope, known as the Duchess of Bedford, is credited as the creator of afternoon teatime. Because the noon meal had become skimpier, the Duchess suffered from a “sinking feeling” at about four o’clock in the afternoon. She invited friends to join her for an additional afternoon meal at five o’clock in her rooms at Belvoir Castle. This summer practice proved so popular, the Duchess continued it when she returned to London. Other social hostesses quickly picked up on the idea and the practice became respectable enough to move it into the drawing room. Before long all of fashionable society was gathering sipping tea and nibbling sandwiches and cakes in the middle of the afternoon. Terms and Conditions 1. Confirmation A completed and signed Wedding Agreement Form and interim payment of £500 is required within 14 days of the original verbal booking. Should this not be forthcoming Careys Manor Hotel (hereafter referred to as Hotel) shall be entitled to treat the provisional verbal booking as cancelled.

2. Price In the event of any taxation change beyond the control of the Hotel (e.g. Increases in the standard rate of VAT), the Hotel reserves to vary the prices quoted to an extent which reflects such change

3. Loss Or Damage The client is responsible for any loss or damage caused to Hotel property/equipment or any equipment hired to the client, by the client or the client’s guests.

4. Finishing Times Functions must finish at the time agreed when booking and extension of time may not be possible.

5. Wines If wine is not purchased from the Hotel for the Reception, the Management reserves the right to charge a supplementary charge.

6. Numbers Attending On the enclosed agreement is shown the number of attendees including the Bride and Groom at the Wedding Reception. The minimum number of guests charged for on a Saturday, either in our Manor Suite or Cedar Suite is 60 adults. Minimum numbers may not apply to Mid week or Sunday Weddings. This is the minimum number that will be charged for. An increase in numbers may be possible. Final chargeable numbers will be those advised 48 hours prior to the function.

7. Payment Terms For Wedding Receptions a) £500 non refundable and non-transferable deposit with Wedding Reception/Civil Ceremony Agreement Form to secure reservation.

e) Any extra charges should be settled within twenty eight days of the Reception.

8. Cancellations Should you have to cancel your booking notification must be received by the hotel in writing. The hotel will charge a % of the total anticipated booking value based on the agreed numbers on your signed agreement form according to the following notice period given: Within 36 weeks of the event 25% Within 12 weeks of the event 75% Within 4 weeks of the event 100% The Hotel will undertake re-let the function room(s) with similar catering arrangements for the same date. The Client will be responsible for the loss incurred by the Hotel in the event that the function rooms remain unoccupied, or are occupied at a lower income level for the Hotel, on the date booked. The cancellation charges imposed by the Hotel will, therefore, reflect the actual revenue loss. Any postponement of confirmed and contracted business will be treated as a cancellation.

Health And Safety If, during the wedding, the Client uses the grounds for any activities other than photographs, socialising, e.g. wishes to provided a bouncy castle, the Client is expected to furnish the Hotel with the details of that activity and, where appropriate, for providing a safe system of work in writing at least 14 days before arrival to allow the Hotel Management to assess the Health and Safety implications of such activities.
