Formal Learning (10%)
In the 70/20/10 learning model, the 10% refers to the percentage of learning that occurs through formal education or structured training programs. This component emphasizes the importance of formal learning opportunities to acquire new knowledge, skills, and competencies.
At Carhartt, the 10% component of the learning model is supported through various initiatives:
1. Workshops: Carhartt offers structured workshops and sessions on topics such as Development Planning, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Leaders LeveragingDiSC, Leadership Tracks with other professional growth topics.
2. LinkedIn Learning & Online Computer-Based Training: Associates have access to online learning platforms such as: LinkedIn Learning, MyCarhartt, and DiSC Catalyst. These platforms provide a wide range of courses, book summaries, podcasts, skill assessments, and compliance training to enhance their knowledge or build new skillsets or capabilities.
3. External training partnerships: Carhartt may collaborate with external training providers such as Educate360 to offer specialized training programs (Project Management Academy private cohort).
4. Continuing education support: Carhartt provides tuition reimbursement, educational loan repayment, and tuition discounts with multiple Universities. Contact your Benefits Specialist for more information.
5. Leadership programs: Carhartt invests in leadership development programs to upskill associates for current & future leadership roles.
By allocating resources to formal education and structured training to inspire and invest in associates, Carhartt ensures that its workforce has access to learning opportunities to stay equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to excel in their roles. These opportunities not only enhance individual growth but also contribute to supporting the growth and protecting the legacy of Carhartt.
