Welcome to our lovely island paradise!

Dear Partner, The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) is excited to showcase the product offerings of our membership with our new Resource Guide.

The BHTA 2021 Resource Guide includes a range of new and varied members, from pharmacies to luxury confectioners. Categories of membership covered in this Guide include accommodation, attractions, restaurants, activities, transportation providers, consultancy firms and numerous other tourism-related enterprises.

The tourism and hospitality industry’s experience around the world has been significantly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the introduction and roll out of vaccines has enabled countries to regain some sense of normalcy, so there is no better time than the present to showcase the more than three hundred and fifty (350) members of the BHTA. The BHTA Resource Guide is easily navigable, and features 45 pages chockful of useful information for

anyone interested in the beautiful island of Barbados, whether as a trade partner or as a consumer. There is valuable information relating to banking, business hours, languages, medical facilities, travel protocols, beaches, food, fun facts, traditional sports, and famous Barbadians, or Bajans as we are known. Our members offer an assorted array of services to complement your every need.

The BHTA is a not-for-profit private sector membership association, which exist to serve the interests of its diverse membership. Our primary goal is to facilitate the sustainable growth and development of the local tourism sector to the benefit of our members, our country and the people of Barbados. The Association represents approximately 80% of the total registered accommodation room stock on the island.

Macaroni Bajan's Favourite Food

Pie

Ingredients • 1 lb macaroni • 1 green sweet pepper, chopped

Method 1.

Cook macaroni, sweet pepper & onion in boiling water for 7 - 10 minutes (do not overcook).

2.

Drain & transfer to a large bowl - there add remaining ingredients mixing each ingredient in slowly (including 3/4 cheese).

3.

Spread macaroni mixture evenly into a pyrex or baking dish.

• 2 tbsp paprika • 1 tsp black pepper • 2 tbsp mayonnaise • 1 medium onion, chopped • 2 tbsp ketchup • 2 tbsp French’s mustard • 1 tsp Fresh parsley, chopped • 2 tbsp Bajan (or chopped) seasoning • 16 oz grated English Cheddar cheese

4.

Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 grated cheese evenly on top of the mixture to form the crust and lightly dust with bread crumbs if available.

5.

Place in oven and bake at 350°F (176°C).

6.

The pie is finished when the top layer of grated cheese crust melts and begins to brown.
