N E W & N O T E W O RT H Y Here at Caribtours, we like to keep our ears to the ground when it comes to what’s going on in the world of luxury hotels and resorts. If there’s a new hotel set to open, or an exciting renovation in progress, you can rest assured we’ll have all the latest news to share with you.

LOS CABOS, MEXICO This year we’re expanding our popular Mexico programme to include the Pacific coast and Los Cabos, situated at the tip of the Baja California peninsula. This ruggedly beautiful part of the country is characterised by cactusspeckled deserts, white sand beaches and seas that teem with life, and it’s also home to some of Mexico’s most exclusive resorts. The sunsets along the coast here are spectacular, and though the beaches are not always suited to swimming, there is a mind-boggling array of watersports on offer, including snorkelling, scuba diving, kitesurfing, standup paddleboarding, kayaking and parasailing. The Sea of Cortez, described by Jacques Cousteau as ‘the world’s aquarium’, is one of the best places on earth for whale watching, while back on land you can explore the arroyos and mountains by jeep, quad bike or on horseback. Most of the resorts are found on the strip of coast known as ‘The Corridor’, which links the party town of Cabo San Lucas with the quieter, more authentically Mexican San José del Cabo. Aside from restaurants and bars, you can also find plenty of places to shop for local handicrafts, and there are a number of old Jesuit missions scattered around the region. Golf is also a big deal here, with courses designed by the likes of Tiger Woods and Fred Couples.
