LOCATION: On the private Kommeno Peninsula surrounded by the Ionian Sea, 25 minutes’ drive from the airport and Corfu Town. ACCOMMODATION: There are 300 rooms, suites, bungalows, palazzos and villas scattered across the peninsula. The style is bright, modern and impeccably put together, with plenty of natural light flooding in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms feature a private balcony, air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi, 24-hour room service, tea/coffee making facilities and in-room safe, with a mini bar available on request (at an additional charge). Highlights include the Swim Up Bungalow Suites, accessed via a shared infinity pool, and the Waterfront Suites, which enjoy direct beach access via a boardwalk. Some of the extravagant villas and palazzos have their own jetty from which you can dive straight into the sea, and offer up to six bedrooms.
RESTAURANTS & BARS: There are six different restaurants to choose from, spanning cuisines from around the world. Mon Repos is the main buffet restaurant, while Aristos offers French fine dining, the Trattoria & Wine Bar focuses on Italian favourites, and the al fresco Yali Seafood restaurant sits on a deck above the water. Merlin’s Bar Restaurant offers something a little bit different, with an innovative Asian-Latin American fusion menu, while the Gelateria is the place to find sweet treats. There are ample opportunities to enjoy a cold drink, including the shady Odysseus Cocktail Terrace by the pool. The resort is also home to the unique Danilia Village, an artfully created replica of a traditional Corfiot village, where you can enjoy traditional Greek cuisine using fresh and seasonal organic ingredients.
FACILITIES: There are three outdoor pools, one of which is heated during the summer months, and a fully serviced beach complete with sunbeds and umbrellas. The Elixir Beauty Spa features an indoor pool, sauna, Hammam, beauty centre, four massage rooms and one dedicated couple’s room. Keep fit at the gym, with personal training sessions available, and enjoy activities including yoga, aerobics, Pilates, dancing, hiking, snorkelling, diving and table tennis. Nearby facilities include a tennis centre with seven floodlit courts, mountain biking and horse riding. There is regular live entertainment, including bands, DJs and family-friendly shows, and there’s loads for youngsters to do at the Grecoland Kids’ Club, with three separate programmes for 4-6 yrs, 7-12 yrs and teens aged 13 yrs and above.
