Carles Mitjà

Carles Mitjà was born in Barcelona (Spain) on 1948. Graduated in Photography by the Politechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), he developed a period of more than fifteen years as a professional photographer. His work was mainly dedicated to the editorial, advertaising and industrial photography. On his own, has been always interested in lanscape, both natural and urban. From 1996 is exclusively devoted to teach Image Technology in the Center of the Image and Multimedia Technology (CITM) at the UPC Terrassa Campus. Since 2003, is Coordinator of the Image Quality Laboratory (LQI) at the same CITM. The LQI is an experimental and research laboratory working on the image quality metrics and digital image processing.
