SEATED TAI CHI

Seated Tai Chi combines gentle, slow movements with abdominal breathing and mental concentration to improve general health and well-being. This format has been shown to improve upper body strength, flexibility, range of motion and reduce stress, pain and stiffness. This program is appropriate for those who cannot stand, have lower body weakness, or who do not feel confident in their balance. Participants must be able to sit for 45 minutes. No class on 11/25.

RESTORATIVE EVENING TAI CHI

Many of us have high levels of stress, which makes it difficult to relax, focus and be present in the moment. Tai Chi and Qi Gong (pronounced CHEE GUNG), both have roots in ancient China and can help solve this very modern problem. A certified Tai Chi instructor will lead you through gentle, focused movements shown to relax the body and mind, improve focus and overall well-being. End your busy day relaxed and refreshed! ON THE TRAIL TO FITNESS

Enjoy the outdoors this fall! A certified personal trainer will lead you through a warm-up, 2-3 mile walk with strength exercises along the way and cool down stretch at the end. This is a great way to exercise and socialize!

COUCH TO 5K

Got a 5k on your bucket list? This program has you covered! An experienced instructor will guide you on form and strategies to make your 5k a success! This 7-week program culminates with the Carmel Bolt for the Heart 5k. Fee includes your entry. No class on 10/17.

Embody change by using movement meditation, purposeful goal making, and expressive activities. YOGA PROPS WORKSHOP NEW!

Ever wondered why your yoga teacher always says “Use your block for triangle”? What is all the fuss with yoga props? Join CCPR instructor Gretchen Clore (Lightfoot) for this practical, insightful and fun workshop that teaches you how to incorporate blocks, straps and blankets to bolster your yoga practice. You will also learn how to use props to increase deep relaxation and stress relief. This workshop is geared toward experienced students who are curious about different ways to enhance and explore their yoga practice.

Reserve your spot for a group fitness class.

Unlimited access to group fitness classes is included with your Monon Community Center membership. If you wish to attend a group fitness class and don’t have a membership, that’s okay! Just purchase a day pass and you can drop in to join the fun. Most classes are 50 minutes in length, except for our extended yoga classes (65–85 minutes) and our express classes (30 minutes). Classes are open to ages 15 and up and 11–14 year olds are permitted with a parent/guardian present in class. We offer modifications based on participant skill level.

AQUATICS

AQUA TABATA

Boost your metabolism and improve cardiovascular strength in the pool during this high intensity interval training class. This class is a combination of cardio and strength moves designed to rev up your metabolism by burning calories and building strength. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and may use a variety of aqua resistance fitness equipment.

DEEP WATER

Enjoy the waterpark while burning calories. This class is the perfect combination of cardio and strength in the deep water to improve endurance and strength in a low-impact format. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and may use aqua dumbbells or other water equipment to add resistance.

GENTLE AQUA

Core strengthening in a gentle aqua format. This class features a combination of moves to improve core strength and posture. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and might incorporate aqua equipment to add resistance and build new strength.

WATER WALKING

This class is a safe way to elevate your heart rate and minimize impact to the joints while doing cardio in the water. This 50-minute class is great for all levels.

NEUROSPLASH

Ready to make a splash? This 50 minute class is designed for anyone with or without a neurological or physical disability who is wanting to work on their endurance, strengthening, range of motion, balance and flexibility. Neuro Splash is open to all levels and all needs and led by a Certified Recreational Therapist.

STRENGTH

ACTIVE STRENGTH

New to Exercise? This class is a safe way to elevate your heart rate, increase your range of motion, and experience a great workout while minimizing impact to the joints. This 50-minute class is great for new exercisers or seniors who need a low impact, slower-paced strength class.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Trainer lead circuits lead to positive individual fitness level results. This class challenges your muscle groups using a variety of equipment in short, high-intensity stations. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and offers a variety of weight options at each station for an individualized challenge.

HUSTLE, MUSCLE & CORE

Build strength, cardiovascular endurance, lean muscle growth, and excess fat loss. This class encompasses use of the track, weights and body weight exercises to gain muscle mass, while achieving cardiovascular endurance targeting all the major muscle groups. This 50-minute class is open to all levels.

LIFT IT & HIIT IT

Achieve your strength goal. This easy-to-follow strength class challenges various muscle groups using resistance bands, handheld weights and more. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and uses medium weights and body bars.

REPS AND SETS

Achieve your strength goal. This is an easy to follow strength class that challenges various muscle groups using resistance bands, handheld weights, and more. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and uses medium weights and body bars.

BOOTCAMP

Feel athletic in this sport inspired workout. This is a fullbody workout that will push your body to the limits in a fun, motivational way. This 50-minute class is for experienced exercisers and will incorporate a variety of equipment including sand bells, medicine balls, jump ropes and dumbbells.

CARDIO

CARDIO STRENGTH INTERVAL

Cardio-based movements, alternating with strength exercises create a super-charged interval format. This class will fatigue major muscle groups to increase your overall fitness level. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and uses a variety of resistance based equipment including stability balls, weights, steps, and bands.

CARDIO MIX

Burn major calories from head to toe in this high aerobic workout. This class incorporates high and low impact movements, strength training and balance exercises to give you a total body workout! This 50-minute class uses steps, mats and dumbbells, and is open to all levels by offering a variety of modifications.

SILVERSNEAKERS® CLASSIC

Have fun with fitness at any age! This class is designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and ability to accomplish daily living skills. This 50-minute class is open to all guests and encouraged for seniors. It incorporates light handheld weights, elastic tubing, a chair, and small fitness balls.

STRICTLY STRENGTH

TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING

Make life easier with total body activation and strength. This class features continuous cardio and strength moves designed to improve your overall fitness level. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and uses a wide range of fitness equipment.

CYCLE

Pedal your way into shape in this low-impact cardio class! This class is on an indoor cycling bike and incorporates speed, strength and hill work created by changing the resistance cued by the instructor. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and can help you keep track of calorie burn with bike monitors.

DANCE CARDIO

Shake, move and groove! This cardio class is high-energy and will have you burning tons of calories while you dance to pop music. This 50-minute class is open to all levels and requires no equipment.

EXPRESS HUSTLE, MUSCLE AND CORE

Get a quick fix in during your day. This athletic based class will get your heart pumping and body pushed to its max in a short period of time. This 30-minute class is open to experienced exercisers and uses kettlebells, weights, and the track.
