Hi! I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Started studying architecture in Brazil and then moved to London to study English for a year. While living there, I was able to visit places around Europe, acquiring more architecture knowledge and learning about another culture. Back in Brazil, I decided to study abroad, so I went to Coral Springs, Florida, and started studying to get in an North American University. Graduated from Anderson University, South Carolina with a Bachelors in Interior Design in 2012. In 2011, I did an internship at Pepe Calderin Design in Miami. In 2013 moved back to Brazil and started working for a furniture firm called Ornare, stayed there for almost a year, then decided to try my masters degree on Interior Architecture at FIU. I found interesting the cruise and yatch design program, I really think that can open more job opportunities for me. While researching about cruise ship design, I really saw myself working with the same design style.
Filippo Poggipolini 25 I’m Italian, I was born in Bologna. I moved to Miami almost 4 years ago to study English and I fell in love with this city after 5 seconds. I love the hot weather and Miami has the perfect weather for me. Since I was a child, during my free time, I drew houses or played games where the goal was to design houses or interiors. My other passion is soccer, I’ve played since I was 5. I also like music and to eat a lot, especially burger, pasta or pizza. I chose cruise ship because it is a passion that my family gave to me since they have a company in the nautical field. I worked for almost 6 months as a designer in a general contractor company designing residential projects only. VIVA L’ITALIA.

I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is my 5th year at FIU and I chose to study the Cruise Ship and Super Yacht (CSSY) design program because it was the one thing that attracted me to the interior design program in the first place. Also, I’ve always had a passion for all things maritime. Some of my skills include but are not limited to Revit, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and hand rendering.

I am an Architect and a professional Ballet Dancer from Caracas - Venezuela. I used to work in a big enterprise dedicated to interior design. I chose the Master of Interior Architecture because I believe that is an extension of architecture. I specially found the design of cruise ships and super yachts very interesting and different. I like to travel in this kind of vessels, so I wanted to explore more about this field of interior design and be part of the professionals who create those amazing spaces within these vessels. At the moment I feel very happy since I’m pregnant of a baby boy!

I’m from Venezuela, I started my interior Design Associate in Miami Dade College and then I transferred to FIU. I choose to do the cruise ship and super yacht design program because I want a certificate that will differentiate me from the rest in the design community, and also because it is a big industry here in Miami.

Hello there! I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the United States when I was 17 years old. I am fortunate enough to have been able to pursue a career in interior design after having a degree in Psychology, and I love every aspect of it. I was interested in the cruiship and super yatch design program due to its uniqueness and our location. I believe it is a great opportunity to obtain the knowledge and necessary training in such industry. I am very passionate about design, from the early stages of conceptualizing a project and through the materials application, and deeply enjoy the finished result and the positive reaction of users. The expectations for our trip to Italy are as high as my positive attitude and excitement is about it. I am planning on making the best experience out of the whole trip, the people we meet and the knowledge we obtain. I am sure it will be a culturally enriching few days as well.

Esteban Alvarez 24 Hello, I am from Medellin, Colombia. I am interested in interior design, rollerblading, photography, capoeira, Italian language, as well as Portuguese. I believe that cruise ships are the most multicultural place to design, understanding different cultures will define the quality of the space, this along with the efficient design of limited spaces is why I chose the cruise ship route.
