APPLE PICKING

ORCHARDS IN NORTH GEORGIA

September is generally the best time of year to pick apples. While different varieties of apples ripen at different times, early fall is almost always a reliable time to go apple picking.

APPLE-PICKING TIPS

Grasp apples with the palm of your hand. Twist apples instead of pulling.

Don’t use an apple picker.

Ripe apples are crisp and firm to the touch. Select only ripe apples.

Don’t drop apples into your baskets.
