The American School of Doha seeks a Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) beginning in August 2017. POSITION The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) is a vital and valued member of the School Leadership Team, with responsibility for the following areas: ● ● ● ● ●
Finance Facilities Purchasing Contracting Safety & Security
The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) has responsibility for approximately 11 direct hire employees. As the DFO, the position is the senior financial administrator at ASD and is responsible for the management and presentation of the school’s finances and financial information. The DFO works closely with the Director in assessing and managing risk, charting the strategic direction of the school, and providing effective and efficient finance and budget recommendations to the Board of Directors and the Board’s Finance Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ASD seeks a proven leader with demonstrated experience as an administrator, finance professional, analyst and communicator. The school seeks continuous improvement and aims to hire an individual who will continue to lead the evolution of the school’s finances and operations in areas that include, but are not limited to: ● ● ● ● ● ●
Systematization of operational procedures; Implementation of financial controls; Strong support of learning in all decisions, processes, procedures and dispositions; Deepening professional skill levels of staff in all operational areas; Prudent and strategic financial management; and Participation in the ASD community.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate qualifications and demonstrate leadership aptitude in the following key areas: ● ● ●
Bachelor’s Degree with a major in finance, economics or accounting Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong analytical, decision-making and planning skills Have demonstrated excellent organizational and managerial skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and the leadership team to ensure that the goals and plans of American School of Doha are achieved
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS ● Senior level management experience in an educational institution ● Overseas international experience and demonstrated success in a multicultural environment ● Masters Degree/MBA.
