Theme Collection Origin of Samba Originally from batuque brought by slaves from 1970, the samba emerged by the 16th century a mixture of Brazilian rhythms with the African. Was stuck on Brazilian soil in colonial times. Is played by percussion instruments like drums, rattles, tambourine, and accompanied by string instruments as well as guitar and cavaquinho. Her songs tell everyday stories of the city highlighting for poor populations. The first recorded samba was on the phone in 1917, performed by Bahiano. In 1930 the samba went on to perform in radio stations to the Brazilian homes. The samba was born in the House of Tia Ciata and was associated with a religious meeting, such as candomblé. The samba school was considered something for marginal, was forbidden. People who sang samba were considered scoundrels, most of them are poor. Getulio Vargas Foundation released the samba school but the same should portray the history of Brazil, with the samba. Difference of samba (is more danceable, example Martinho da Vila) and the cry (more melodic, Pixinguinha example), crying is a variation of musical creation carious lesion, a sophisticated line comparing with the tradition, because of the wind instruments, strings, American influence) or line is the samba a little more independent, made by almost exclusively percussion closest of folklore (example Grupo Fundo de Quintal).

The samba in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and São Paulo The samba in Rio de Janeiro portrays life in the hills, their lyrics talk about urban life, on workers and their difficulties of life so warm and with humor. Part of the carioca culture. In Bahia, the samba is influenciadopelo lundu and maxixe, his lyrics are simple, repetitive and fast swing. Emerging also the samba de roda presents Afro-Brazilian cultural elements, with applause and chants and people dancing inside a wheel. Already in São Paulo, the samba is a mixture of races. With Italian influence, his lyrics are more elaborate with an accent of the workers gaining space in the samba paulista. 2

Carmen Miranda

Carmen Miranda da Cunha, was born in Portugal in 1909 and with only two years moved to Rio de Janeiro. Always showed great interest and talent in music and dance. Began her career as an actress and singer to 20 years of age, recording his album in the late 1930, doing so much success on radio stations in Brazil. Was so successful that she was taken to the United States by a North American-businessman. Featured songs and dances with aspects of tropical brazilian culture, their costumes were colorful clothing, with decorations and hats with tropical fruits, represented the image of a typical Bahia. Not stopping there, Carmen became a Hollywood actress, starring in ďŹ lms such as Tropical Serenade and a night in Rio. 3

Adoniran Barbosa Born in 1912 in Valinhos, better known as Adoniran Barbosa, was composer, singer, comedian and actor. João Rubinato represented on several radio programs, including characters, Adoniran Barbosa. He became known nationally as the father of the samba paulista. Owner of a varied repertoire of stories, the singer would not turn to a good blague. His first success as a composer-turned-song well known in the rodas de samba and performance: the Eleven. It is quite possible that every Brazilian knows, if not the whole song, at least the chorus, that becomes timeless. Adoniran reached sought success, however, was short-lived and not earned him more than a few thin exchanged copyrighted. The song, which was written by the author in 1951 and had no success yet, was covered again by “Demônios da Garoa”, a musical group of São Paulo, a city that was known as the land of drizzle and fog, hence the name of the group. Although the set is paulista, the music happened first in Rio de Janeiro, with resounding success. A shrewd observer of human activities, how well did you know your audience is not satisfied only with the people are lonely and drama; It was necessary to give this audience a dose of humor, even if it was bitter. Tied to the public one of his most notable songs, was one of the first in which he worked the new aesthetic of samba. Between the attempt of his career on the radio in São Paulo and the first success, Adoniran worked hard, and he attended as Bohemian night. His first marriage lasted a year, the second lasted their whole lives with Matilde. Of great importance in the life of the singer, Matilde knew who lived and prestigiava not only his career as encouraged to be who I was and what it was like, Bohemian, uncertain and in constant trouble. Worked out and helped the singer in the difficult moments, that were constants. Adoniran lived for the radio, to Bohemia and Matilde. In one of his late nights of fire, lost her house key and there was no other way but to wake up Matilde, who got mad. The next day was filled with discussions. With this episode arises samba Plays the key. Its main songs were: Saudosa maloca, Tiro ao Álvaro, Trem das Onze,Samba do Arnesto, As mariposas, Iracema (Iracema history Account that was hit by a car on the Street. Is a samba that deals with death in traffic. Once again, current theme).

The Project Conceptualization of the product creation process sories.

The 100 years of samba was the theme chosen for the collection of acces-

Within this theme, we chose 2 artists to influence the creative process. Are they, Carmen Miranda, the small outstanding and Adoniran Barbosa, known as the father of samba in São Paulo. We seek to mix lightness and feelings of the lyrics of Adoniram with the singularity, textures and colors of Carmen Miranda. The creation of accessories (bracelet and necklace) in the Maya software, consisted in the operation of cylindrical shape. To the damn bracelet has changed to the extent of 6,603 mm, its section for 0559 mm, the subdivisions of the axis and height have been changed to 11 and 3. With these measures, the points of the object were moved around to get to the goal of making the bracelet similar to the texture of the shell of pineapple. For the necklace, choker, the model was changed to 6,053 mm measure, his section to 3,306 mm, the subdivisions of the axis and height have been changed to 22 and 2. The goal is to remember the texture of pineapple Peel and his Crown.

Conceptualization of research For the production of the sketch of the accessories, there was the inclusion of the concept of linearity and geometrization, which refers to the city of São Paulo, so we could bring a conceptual design and only at parts, joining to the brightness of the samba in São Paulo and rainbow of Carmen Miranda. Develop the research and production of accessories in digital platform, software that allow editing of 3D shapes with the purpose to go to 3D printer. 7

Case study Printed 3D The case study of 3D printing is about a collection of clothes, the graduate work of Danit Peleg, his inspiration was Eugène Delacroix, Liberty Leading The People. All parts of the collection were printed, including shoes. Danit Peleg, Israeli from Tel-Aviv, graduated by Shankar College of Design and your TCC is based on the intersection and the possibilities between fashion and new technologies. To this end, the focus of his research and work focused on laser cutting and 3D printing, though not count on such subjects in your course. The only thing I had, at first, was curious. And a willingness to chase after people who could help her promote this interdisciplinarity. So, did you get a lab in your city to try and learn more about the process. In addition to devote many hours of online research on the subject. Danit used the Blender program to draw your pieces for print, tried different printers MakerBot, Prusa, until you reach the Witbox, began experimenting with various objects, such as plastic produced with polylactic acid (PLA), but realized it wasn’t the malleable when needed. Finally discovered so the plastic Filaflex, strong and flexible, and with the printer Witbox managed to reach the desired end product. Found Andreas Bastian’s and Mesostructured cellular materials through a combination of amazing structures and flexible materials to create an approximate textile texture. Modified the patterns in order to pass a 3D sensation in the black dress. David Peleg believes that this is just the beginning, with the evolution of technology, believes that soon people will be printing their own clothes at home.

Case study Laser Cut After graduating in architecture graduate at Columbia University the designer Michel Szivos created the Soft Studio Lab which currently has its headquarters located in New York City in the United States. The Soft Lab has already done projects in almost all media, but covers projects that are different, considered strangers and difficult, the sculptures are produced on a large scale by creating interactivity and visual experience, being new and only through technology and creativity. The Studio has won awards and has also guest starred on important projects with famous designers, had publications in magazines and exhibited his works in national and international museums in Germany and in Dubai who recently along with a team led by Tellart, designed the Museum of the future display in 2016 Government Summit. One of this and all the amazing work of this team, we have chosen a specific that was made for the brand Melissa in New York gallery. Using craft-based and technology inspired by nature the studio produced flowers the collection it is a name that says “We are flowers” the Soft Lab used about 20,000 translucent acrylic material cut flowers, they were fixed by metal rings on both sides of the frame forming several diamonds. The sculpture is slight compared with the volume she does, bringing the idea of a hanging garden of toughened fineness through his colorful petals that brings the joy of colors is the face of the brand, so how is the face of Carnival and samba, also representing the colorful Carmen Miranda who is one of the stars in our work. In 2015 the brand also launched the collection Star Walker and Soft Studio Lab created sculptures called “Crystallized” inspired by the own shoes in the collection, is a vast other that appears to all angles, made of aluminium and with custom cuts, the piece changes colour and coloured light of a spectacular way.
