Keep Calm and Eliminate MNT! leadership

caring Become heroes for the cause. Help save women and their future babies.

character building

Work together with other Key Club members to raise funds and awareness for The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus. Host your week in May—ideally, the week leading up to Mother’s Day. (In 2013, that’s May 6–10.) Find an easy-to-use guide online at keyclub.org to help you plan your Eliminate Week. Help save and protect women and babies around the world!

Helpful Tips: 1. Get things started by learning more about the Eliminate Project, and share this with your club. 2. Plan your week. Outline clear goals that your club wants to be involved in, like a give-something-up-day. 3. Educate your audience by hanging posters around school and making announcements. 4. Make it happen by following your plan and having a great week! 5. Wrap the week up by gathering your funds, depositing them in the bank, and giving them to the Eliminate Project (by sending in a donation or submitting a check).

KEY CLUB Carolinas District Newsletter, Division 25B

From Your Lieutenant Governor The 2013-2014 year is going to be filled with exciting adventures! I look forward to meeting everyone in Division 25B! Remember to add me on Facebook and contact me as soon as possible! I am very eager to work with everyone in this division on projects, fundraisers, and events. Remember that anyone can come up with an idea to start a project! This summer is a great time to have a little fun and activate some of your Key Club members. Keep that in mind as we near the end of school.

SERVICE IMPORTANT! Key Club Officer information for your school needs to be submitted to me by June 14th at the latest! This information will help communication run smoothly, so that your club is up-to-date with everything Key Club related. Please just shoot me an email with the details, so that your club information can be updated.

LEADERSHIP Summer Project Ideas Just because school is nearing the end doesn’t mean Key Club has to! Encourage your members to be active during the summer! Some good (and fun ) ideas for a project could include: • Car wash fundraisers: usually you can go to a local CVS or Walgreens and they will allow you to use their parking lot space for free. The money earned can go towards charities such as the Eliminate Project or the Boys and Girls home. • Clothing drives for the Boys and Girls home: everyone has old clothes they don’t wear, unite your Key Club by starting a clothing drive in your local area! • A bake sale: this is a unique way to get not only your key club but also your community together and support a good cause! Remember anyone can start one of these and any donation is a success! Whether you choose one of these ideas or come up with your very own, remember that you and your club are making a difference! I would love to hear about all of the wonderful things your club is doing. Who knows, maybe you’ll make it in the next issue of this newsletter? :)

Words for the wise... “Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing” Camille Pissarro “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” Earl Nightingale “I hope you live a life you’re proud of.” F. Scott Fitzgerald “Remember if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm… As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” Audrey Hepburn

“Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind, but great actions speak to all mankind.” Theodore Roosevelt “What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” Joseph Addison “Limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless.” Jamie Paolinetti

Congratulations on all your club progress, growth and accomplishments during the 20122013 school year! Keep up the fantastic work and service throughout 2013! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns.
