Shake, Rattle, and Roll at District Convention!
In 1981, the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina at Lake Waccamaw became the Carolinas District Project. The Boys and Girls Homes is a residential group care home for abused, neglected and dependent children between the ages of nine and eighteen.
How have we been making a difference? The Carolinas District has helped the Girls and Boys Homes by donating clothes, toys, food, school supplies, hygiene products, time, and money. Our District helped provide funds for the Leamon E. Rogers Memorial Chapel built in 2001. We have also started Keys to the Vans, which helps to provide vehicles for the Girls and Boys Homes, and Christmas for Children, which raises money to give the children a memorable Christmas.

Now do your part! You can help support the Boys and Girls Home by participating in Shake-Rattle-and-Roll. Fill up a bottle with change during the next two months and bring it to District Convention. The bottles will be collected on Friday night after the opening session. Please invite your club to collect change and bring a bottle to District Convention! At District Convention, we will also be selling Together-We-Can Ribbons for $1. Please bring some cash to District Convention so you can purchase one!

Being a Lt. Governor
What: Regional Meeting
To be quite honest, being a Lt. Governor is life-changing. As result, I have been privileged with countless opportunities, like learning lifelong leaderships and communication skills and attending numerous Key Club events. The entire District board is filled with tremendous Key Clubbers that I am lucky enough to have lasting friendships with. Looking back at this past year, I am so thankful of every experience and piece of knowledge that being on the District board has given me.

Where: Camden Military Academy Time: 2-4 pm
Who: All club officers and advisors from Region 8 (including Columbia, Camden, and Darlington), club members, and 13-14 year district officer candidates.
LEADERSHIP
Held by: Ana Reyes, Lieutenant Governor Division 20 (Darlington), Christine Reynolds, Lieutenant Governor Division 23A (Camden), and myself, Caroline Kelley, Lieutenant Governor Division 23B (Columbia) Regional Meetings are a wonderful way for divisions to work together on local projects, gain information specifically related to Region 8, and to elect Lt. Governors that will represent their divisions on the Carolinas District Board. This is truly a wonderful time to meet and correspond with other clubs near you and to learn important details about upcoming events, and more!
Attention all Key Clubbers!
Lt. Governor Elections will be taking place at this Regional Meeting. *I highly encourage the attendance of your clubs’ officers and advisors, as well as freshmen, sophomores, and juniors that wish to run for Lt. Governor or District Office. I cannot wait to see you there on February 2nd, 2013!
And the best thing that I can say is that I hope you believe me and run for yourself. Prove me right, because I want YOU to be a part of this unforgettable experience called being a Lt. Governor. Please know that I am always available if you have any questions. And I genuinely look forward to seeing you at our Regional Meeting and District Convention.
