Artist analysis Irving Penn Irving creates an striking images of the models. The subjects shows indiviual impression of emotions, bringing out the character. Using black and white images shows a dramatic outlook to each piece.

David Hockney His style of photography is well known for his series of ‘joiners’ shows influence with cubism. This presents a larger perspective of the subject and subject and the environment, giving an unique outcome.

Joshua Naylor With the inspiration of david Hockney’s style, showed how technology meant Joshia could experiment further with his own work. Being able to align the images using obscure structure created an unsual outcomes.

Danny Payne He’s taken many concert portraitures for magazines. How he brings alive in his compositions the atmosphere of the subject.

Experimental research - Matt Wisniewski With Matt’s work brings together his interest of fashion, architecture and photography effectively. Using outcomes of the landscape into the subject creates individual style.

Oliver Morris How Oliver Morris shows a compelling visual bringing together a silhouette of the person, whilst blending the nature.

Both artists created serires of final prints which they well known for producing for exhibitions. Joinging together they created abstract portraiture. How they focused on the subject but using different colours which creates an optical illusion but brings a different perspective (which complemt together). For example the series of prints ‘Fashion animals’ using layering together, both images creates a first impression being displayed to create a stunning effect.

Comparisons in contemporary and historical portrait photographers Historical In 18th century the basis of the camera obscura (function of pin hole camera) then over time was further developed to create interpretation as photography.

Contemporary 1901 – Kodak introduced the 120 film. 1909 – Kodak introduces a 35 mm "safety" motion picture film on an acetate base as an alternative to the highly flammable nitrate base. The motion picture industry discontinues its use after 1911 due to technical imperfections.

Thomas Wedgwood was pioneer between photography and technology. Sometime in the 1790s, Wedgwood devised a repeatable method of chemically staining an object's silhouette to paper by coating the paper with silver nitrate and exposing the paper, with the object on top, to natural light, then preserving it in a dark room which was beginning of images on print; becoming one of first experimenters of photography. In 1847, Count Sergei Lvovich Levitsky designed a bellows camera which significantly improved the process of focusing. This adaptation influenced the design of cameras for decades and is still found in use today in some professional cameras.

1925 – The Leica introduced the 35mm format to still photography. 1934 – The 135 film cartridge was introduced, making 35mm easy to use.

In July 1888 Eastman's Kodak camera went on the market with the slogan "You press the button, we do the rest". Now anyone could take a photograph and leave the complex parts of the process to others, and photography became available for the mass-market in 1901 with the introduction of the Kodak Brownie. Creating ideally the first commercial camera.

1957 – First digital image produced on a computer by Russell Kirsch at U.S. National Bureau of Standards (now known as the National Institute of Standards and Technology, or NIST. 1986 – Kodak scientists invent the world's first megapixel sensor.

The three-color method, which is the foundation of virtually all practical color processes whether chemical or electronic, was first suggested in an 1855 paper on color vision by Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell.1901 – Kodak introduced the 120 film.

1942 – Kodacolor, Kodak's first "print" film. 1949 – The Contax S camera was introduced, the first 35mm SLR camera with pentaprism for eyelevel viewing.

Photoshoot 1 These images were taken with Sony digital camera. This photoshoot were shot in the dance studio. Experimenting in the models environment relates easily to the viewer. The series of photoshoots were great overall trying different angles of the camera.

Edit 1 Having black and white shows a dramatic outcome to the edits, creating a serious tone,

Photoshoot 2 These images were taken with SLR camera in the studio. Grasping various settings in studio showed the environment in artifical lighting.

Edits The series of edits were suited in colour and presenting a different outcomes.

Photoshoot 3 With these series of images, expermenting with different compositions and colours towards the subject to view different outcomes. These were taken with SLR camera .

Edits With these edits are slightly altered to bring out the outcomes of the colours.

Photoshoot 4 These images were taken with SLR camera. This photoshoot were taken in a sports centre. These images were taken for an event.

Edits Choosing these edits had a unique outcomes by altering the exposure or the composition of the image.

Photoshoot 5 With the influence of Danny Payne’s style, this shoot were taken in various concerts. They were taken with compact SLR camera.

Edits For the edits, choosing final images which shows various outcomes in tone.

Photoshoot 6 These were taken with digital camera, these were taken in series of different locations. This photoshoot I like this shoot because it adds different perspective of subjects.

Edits These edits stood out from the photoshoot.

Experimental shoot Using different locations outdoor in particular to use for experimental shoot.

Photoshoot 7 Using different areas outdoors to give a blend between the subject and the background. Having various locations creates the exposure and unique compositions to use for experimentals.

Experimental 1 With the styles of David Hockney, altering the image to be ‘joiner’ styles by individual cropping and layeering together.

Once the images merged together which creates a obscure perspective. This creates a abstract outcome.

Experimental 2 With this experiment, altering the subject and taken out the background.

Adding the background brings a vivid outcome, making it complement together. Bringing out the subject of the image.

Experimental 3 Experimenting with different layers and colours to create an abstract outcome.

Experimental 4 Having negative space meant i could experiment blending with opacity to create a faded effect.

Experimenting with duplication adds different perspective to the outcom.
