How does it work? The 2 1/2 days will focus on: • Didactic presentations by key cross-media players (each in their field). • Pitches made by animation company who has a 360 approach built in their project. The pitches will be appraised by a team of interactive and cross-media experts who will advise on content, financing and distribution.
Who can present a project? • European producers who want to develop their animation project or property into a cross-media brand to be distributed on several screens. • European professionals who want to develop their cross-media project into animation. • Fluency in English is required as there will be no translation onsite.
Which cross-media project can be submitted? • An animation project or existing property which is being developed across multiple platforms. • Preferably originating from an animated TV series or film but this is not a condition for eligibility. • At a stage where at least 2 developments on distinct platforms can be pitched in full. 2
Who’s coming? Cartoon 360 targets producers of animation who want to get inspiration and knowledge on new cross-media opportunities from a creative and business point of view. More specifically, the event will offer participants the privilege of hearing both pitching sessions on cross-media projects and the instant guidance given by our panel of digital experts. Producers wishing to pitch their cross-media project are invited to register online and submit a file by 14 February. The event is also open to producers without a project but having already developed a crossmedia brand or thinking of doing so. The setting and social programme will give all participants the opportunity to exchange and network with a view to entering into new partnerships.

How Cartoon 360 works 1. Pitching sessions Duration Producers will be allocated a 40-minute session: • 20 minutes to present the cross-media approach of their project. The pitch will focus on how the project will be/is developed to travel on a selected number of platforms (min. 2 platforms excluding TV and theater since these formats will not be pitched) • 20 minutes for a panel of interactive and cross-media experts to give their first impression on the pitch and offer guidance and helpful advice Other participants will be present at the pitching sessions.
Moderators There will be a moderator for each pitching session who will help producers with their pitch and ask questions to the experts.
Panel of experts CARTOON will appoint 20 digital stakeholders from TV, digital platforms, financing, licensing, gaming, distribution who are willing to share their knowledge on the new platforms.
2. Keynotes The pitching sessions will be completed by presentations on key elements of the digital market, such as detailed budget costs, business plans, audience engagement, new partnerships, best practices, distribution, etc.

• A cover page with the project title, company name and a nice still to illustrate the project

• The concept / note of intent: it should explain what the project is (briefly mention the origin of the project), why it lends itself to cross-media development, and which crossmedia developments you are considering (max. 2 pages).

*Note: In order to help you, we have listed a number of platforms/content which you may tick in the online form when relevant to your project: Tablets / Web / Consoles / TV / Apps / Games / Augmented reality / Web series / Social networks / VOD Platforms / E-books / Second screens / Smart TV / Other On the form, we ask you to prioritise the cross-media extensions from number 1 (the main one that will drive the property) to numbers 2 and 3 (for the platforms that you will use to extend your brand at a later stage). This too will be helpful information for our panel of experts.

Dates • Tuesday 25 March: Morning: arrival of participants. Afternoon: presentations by cross-media experts. Evening: networking at Welcome dinner. • Wednesday 26 March: pitching sessions. • Thursday 27 March: pitching sessions and Farewell dinner. • Friday 28 March: Departure of participants.
Venue Munich, Germany. The event will take place at the Eurostars Grand Central Hotel****.
Cost • 400 EUR for participants without project. • 500 EUR for producers pitching a project.

The event is open to professionals pitching a project but also for other animation / game / cross-media professionals interested in the topic.

Transfers from Munich Airport Please kindly note that CARTOON will not organise any transfers from and to the airport since the way to and from the city centre is very easy. The hotels are all located at maximum 15 minutes on foot from the main station (Hauptbahnhof ). Upon your arrival at Munich airport you can take the train or a taxi to reach the city centre of Munich.

Cartoon 360 was devised and created by CARTOON, an international non-profit association based in Brussels. CARTOON’s remit is to support the European animation industry and for more than 20 years, it has received financial support from the MEDIA Programme (Creative Europe) of the European Union to run its activities, which concentrate on four areas: CARTOON FORUM: a co-production forum for animated (mainly television) series. The Cartoon Forum (over 800 participants) takes place annually in September;

CARTOON MOVIE: a co-production forum for feature-length animation, mainly for the cinema. Cartoon Movie (over 700 participants) takes place every year in March in Lyon, Rhône-Alpes (France); CARTOON MASTERS: four training seminars each year for European professionals in the industry (about 100 participants per session), dealing with specialised subjects affecting the development of the skills and trade involved in animation;
