CYFLWYNIAD INTRODUCTION

Bu rhaid i Cartrefi Conwy, fel Landlord Cymdeithasol Cofrestredig yng Nghymru, wella pob un o'n 3,775 o gartrefi i gyrraedd Safon Ansawdd tai Cymru (SATC) erbyn mis Rhagfyr 2012, fel y gosodwyd gan Lywodraeth Cymru.

Cartrefi Conwy, as a Registered Social Landlord in Wales, had to bring all 3,775 of our homes up to Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) by December 2012, as set by the Welsh Government.

Mae Cartrefi Conwy'n llwyr ymwybodol o'n cyfrifoldebau cymdeithasol corfforaethol ac wedi mabwysiadu ymagwedd arloesol o'r dechrau er mwyn creu cymaint o fudd â phosibl o'r gwariant o £30M ar welliannau a ymrwymwyd i gynnig cyfleoedd cyflogaeth a hyfforddiant a chreu cymunedau cynaliadwy drwy'r rhaglen wella. Datblygwyd perthnasau llwyddiannus i gyflawni hyn drwy ethos partneriaeth a drwy hynny, cyflawnwyd yr addewid a wnaethom i'n tenantiaid pan drosglwyddwyd y stoc i wella safon ein cartrefi i gyflawni SATC.

Cartrefi Conwy, starkly aware of our corporate social responsibilities, adopted an innovative approach from the outset to maximise the benefits of a £30M improvement spend that committed to providing employment and training opportunities and creating sustainable communities through the improvements programme. Successful relationships were developed to deliver this through the ethos of partnering and with it deliver the promise we made to our tenants on transfer of bringing our homes up to WHQS standard.

What did this deliver? The Internal & External Programmes employed 320 people of which:

• roedd 61% yn byw o fewn sir Conwy - y Sir lle rydym yn dal ein stoc

• 61% based within the county of Conwy - the county where we hold our stock

• roedd 95% yn byw yng Ngogledd Cymru

• 95% based within North Wales

• Mae cynllun ailgylchu a'r bartneriaeth barhaus gyda Cydweithfa Crest wedi creu dros 300 o gyfleoedd hyfforddi a 7 swydd llawn amser (nifer sy'n dal i dyfu)

• Crest Cooperative recycling initiative and ongoing partnership has created 300 plus training opportunities and 7 fulltime jobs (and growing)

• 6 o brentisiaethau llawn amser

• 50 'Pathways 2 Apprenticeships' placements collaborating with local Llandrillo College.

• 50 o leoliadau 'Prentisiaeth Pathways 2' gan weithio ar y cyd yn lleol gyda Choleg Llandrillo.

Cyflawnwyd SATC a llawer iawn mwy… Aeth Rheolaeth Asedau Cartrefi Conwy ati mewn modd arloesol i wneud y defnydd gorau o'r £3m o arian o'r Rhaglen Arbed Ynni Gymunedol (RhAYG) a'r cynllun Arbed a galluogodd hyn ni i gyflawni nid yn unig y gwaith Insiwleiddio Waliau Allanol (IWA) a gynlluniwyd i 50 byngalo yn Llandrillo-yn-Rhos ond hefyd cyflwyno prosiect IWA arall ar 230 o gartrefi ym Mheulwys, Hen Golwyn.. Yn ogystal, galluogodd ein cytundeb fframwaith presennol gydag G Purchase Adeiladwaith Cyf i Gartrefi Conwy nid yn unig elwa drwy gyflawni gwaith ar eu heiddo eu hunain

Achieved WHQS and a whole lot more… Cartrefi Conwy's Asset Management innovatively maximised £3m of Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) & Arbed funding and this enabled us to carry out not only planned External Wall Insulation (EWI) works to 50 bungalows on Rhos on Sea but bring forward another EWI project to 230 homes in Peulwys, Old Colwyn.. In addition our existing framework agreement with G Purchase Construction enabled Cartrefi Conwy to not only benefit by carrying out works to their own properties in the Peulwys Estate but also create a 100% funding model to an additional 35

Ar y prosiect IWA ar y byngalos yn Llandrillo-ynRhos, gweithiodd G Purchase Adeiladwaith Cyf yn lleol gyda Choleg Llandrillo gan hyfforddi dau o fyfyrwyr i weithredu'r system insiwleiddio waliau allanol. Dyma'r ddau fyfyriwr Coleg cyntaf yng Nghymru i gwblhau'r hyfforddiant arloesol hwn ac a dderbyniodd brofiad gwaith ar y contract yn sgil hynny, am un diwrnod yr wythnos, ac yn y pen draw maent yn gobeithio gweithio yn y sector newydd hon o'r diwydiant. Cwblhaodd dau o diwtoriaid y coleg hyfforddiant gyda Rockwool hefyd ac mae hyn wedi'u caniatáu i gyflwyno ac ychwanegu'r dull modern hwn o dechnoleg adeiladu at y cwricwlwm presennol. Ar Gynllun Ynni Adnewyddadwy arall, manteisiodd Cartrefi Conwy ar y cytundeb fframwaith gyda'r contractwr PH Jones Cyf, i ddechrau ar brosiect uchelgeisiol i osod dros 70 metr o gasglwyr solar thermal ar ddau o flociau llety gwarchod ar Ffordd Pandy a Llys Parc ym Mae Colwyn. Roedd gan yr eiddo hyn systemau gwresogi cymunedol hen ac

owner occupiers on the estate that equates to £12.5k in monetary value per property. On the first EWI project on the bungalows at Rhos-on-Sea, G Purchase Construction Ltd engaged with local Llandrillo College and trained two students in the application of the external wall insulation system. These were the first two College learners in Wales to complete this innovative training and who subsequently gained work experience on the contract, one-day per week, and hope to eventually work in this emerging sector of the industry. Two of the college tutors also completed the training with Rockwool and this has allowed them to introduce and add this modern method of construction technology to the existing curriculum. On another Renewable Energy Scheme Cartrefi Conwy utilised the framework agreement with contractor PH Jones Ltd, to embark on an ambitious project to install more than 70 metres of solar thermal collectors to two sheltered accommodation blocks at Ffordd Pandy and Llys Parc in Colwyn Bay. These properties had old, inefficient communal heating systems and often

Amcangyfrifir y bydd y tri Prosiect Ynni Adnewyddadwy uchod yn arbed 85,000 tunnell fetrig o allyriadau CO2 dros oes y gwelliannau a gostwng biliau ynni o gymaint â 40% (tua £350 y flwyddyn fesul aelwyd)

Rhaglenni Mewnol - Cynllun Ailgylchu Cydweithfa Crest Gyda'i gilydd, ffurfiodd Cartrefi Conwy a'r prif gontractwr fframwaith G Purchase Adeiladwaith Cyf bartneriaeth unigryw gyda'r Fenter Gymdeithasol leol Cydweithfa Crest Cyf sy'n enghraifft o arfer gorau drwy gyfuno cynlluniau cyflogaeth a hyfforddiant gyda rheoli gwastraff, adfer ac ailgylchu deunydd gwastraff o'r gwaith adnewyddu mewnol.

did not comfortably meet tenants' individual energy demands. Wider benefits on this project reached16 local plumbing and heating students from Llandrillo College who were inspired when they attended a ‘Green Initiatives’ master class, on site, with PH Jones and were able to see real life examples of how green initiatives will control heating for the future. The above three Renewable Energy Projects are estimated to save 85,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the life span of improvements and reduce tenants' utility bills by up to 40% (approx. £350 p.a. per household)

Internals Programmes - Crest Cooperative Recycling Initiative Cartrefi Conwy and the main framework contractor G Purchase Construction Ltd together formed a unique partnership with local Social Enterprise Crest Cooperative Ltd that is an exemplar of best practice in combining local employment and training initiatives with waste management, reclamation and recycling of waste materials from the internal refurbishments.

Cafodd yr holl wastraff a grĂŤwyd drwy'r rhaglen welliannau mewnol, eu gwahanu ar y safle, eu gosod mewn biniau ar olwynion a'u cludo i ffwrdd a'u hailgylchu bob dydd gan Crest Cooperative. Hyd yma, mae'r broses o gludo a sortio'r gwastraff wedi darparu profiad gwaith a hyfforddiant i dros 276 o bobl ac wedi adfer ac ailgylchu 98% o'r gwastraff a gasglwyd.

All the waste created through the internals improvements programme, was separated on site, placed in wheelie bins and removed and recycled by Crest Cooperative on a daily basis. The process of transporting and sorting through the waste has to date provided work experience and training for over 276 people and reclamation and recycling of 98% of the waste collected.

Mae'r rhaglenni hyn o waith gwella yn cael eu hailadrodd ledled Cymru, felly roedd cyfle i ailadrodd yr Arfer Gorau a ddangoswyd drwy'r cynllun hwn a'u trosglwyddo i gynlluniau gwaith eraill i gyflawni Safon Ansawdd Tai Cymru.

These programmes of improvement works are being repeated across Wales, therefore the opportunity to repeat the Best Practice demonstrated through this initiative were transferable to other Welsh Housing Quality Standard works.

Yn ogystal, helpodd y berthynas lwyddiannus rhwng Cartrefi Conwy a'r contractwr fframwaith, Nationwide Cyf y cwmni i ennill contract i wneud gwaith gwella yng Ngwynedd gyda Chartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd - oherwydd cwmpas y contract hwn maent wedi sefydlu safle gweithgynhyrchu yng Ngwynedd gyda chyfradd cynnal cyflogaeth o 87%. Mae Cydweithfa Crest Cyf wedi datblygu partneriaeth gyda Nationwide ar y rhaglen hon o welliannau er mwyn ailgylchu drysau.

In addition, the successful relationship with Cartrefi Conwy and framework contractor, Nationwide Ltd aided them winning a contract for neighbouring Gwynedd Housing Association (Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd) improvements work - due to the scope of this contract they have established a manufacturing site in Gwynedd County with 87% employment retention rate. Crest Cooperative Ltd has developed a partnership with Nationwide on this improvements programme in the recycling of doors.

In summary, achieving WHQS has achieved so much more than the standard bricks and mortar of a major improvements programme; it has ensured a legacy has been created throughout the organisation and to the community as a whole.

Ffurfiodd Cartrefi Conwy a'r prif gontractwr G Purchase Adeiladwaith Cyf. bartneriaeth ailgylchu unigryw gyda menter gymdeithasol y Gydweithfa Crest Cyf. Cafodd yr holl wastraff yn sgil y cynllun adnewyddu ei dynnu a'i ailgylchu gan y Gydweithfa Crest yn ddyddiol. Bu i'r broses o gludo a dosbarthu'r gwastraff ddarparu profiad gwaith a hyfforddiant gwerthfawr i dros 276 o bobl a chafodd 98% o'r gwastraff naill ai ei adfer, ei ailgylchu neu ei ailddefnyddio. Dyma'r fenter ailgylchu cyntaf o'i math yng Nghymru ac mae hi'n enghraifft dda o'r arfer rheoli gwastraff orau.

Cartrefi Conwy and the main framework contractor G Purchase Construction Ltd formed a unique recycling partnership with local social enterprise Crest Cooperative Ltd. All the waste created through the internals improvements programme were removed and recycled by Crest Cooperative on a daily basis. The process of transporting and sorting through the waste provided work experience and training for over 276 people and reclaimed, recycled and reused 98% of the waste collected. This pioneering & innovative recycling initiative was the first of its kind in Wales and is exemplar of best practice in waste management.

Bu i 11 o denantiaid gymryd rhan mewn prosiect 12 wythnos a oedd yn ceisio annog pobl i ddychwelyd i weithio drwy fagu eu hyder a darparu sgiliau bywyd 11 tenants took part on a 12-week project aimed at putting people back into the world of work by boosting their self-esteem and providing skills for life.

Mae Adran Talu'n Ôl i'r Gymuned Ymddiriedolaeth Prawf Cymru yn gyfrifol am oruchwylio troseddwyr sydd wedi cael dedfryd i wneud Oriau o Waith Didâl yn y gymuned. Pan nad oedd yr ymddiriedolaeth mewn sefyllfa i gyllido rôl Goruchwyliwr mwyach, sy'n rôl hanfodol i gadw'r cynllun yn weithredol a chynnal lefel bresennol darpariaeth a gwasanaeth, camodd Cartrefi Conwy i'r bwlch i ddarparu nawdd. The Community Payback department of the Wales Probation Trust is responsible for the supervision of offenders' sentenced to carry out Unpaid Work Hours imposed in the community. When the trust were no longer in a position to fund employment of a Supervisor role, a role pivotal to keeping the scheme operational and maintaining the current level of delivery and service, Cartrefi Conwy stepped in to provide sponsorship.

A young person's housing network formed from the ‘Going It Alone’ project with aims to shape issues around housing which affect them and challenge things which are happening in their areas.
