We would like to welcome our special guests, St. Fiachras SNS, who have been involved in our Schools Outreach Programme. This gives both schools the opportunity to engage in tailor made music education programmes and to offer the opportunity to St. Fiachra’s students to engage in their first musical performance with the Artane Band. Every single member of the Artane Band, no matter what instrument they play has been a member of the recorder group, and it is the first formative experience for all our musicians. For these young students, It is their first experience of performing with others of a similar age, and the outreach programme teaches the basic skills of the recorder, such as blowing, breathing, hand positions and the general hand eye co-ordination required to successfully master an instrument. The Schools outreach programme has been an amazing success and we would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the students involved, their parents , teachers and the ASM School outreach programme.
