In synergy with Paris Design Week, M&O finally proposes itself in the real version of the fair. More than 1400 French and international brands will return with their stands exhibiting not only their latest works but all the news that they have not been able to show in the last two years due to the pandemic.
The chance to TOUCH and SEE LIVE remain the two determining factors for the choice of furnishings and accessories for the home. The exhibitors interviewed say their physical presence at the show not only serves to celebrate all the hard work required to launch new collections, but is also critical to making new connections, seeing what the competition is doing and gaining a clearer understanding of the market in the whole. Visitors, including buyers and interior designers, have all come to the same conclusion and are eager to interact with suppliers beyond their screens. Therefore, this autumn session will have a strong impact not only on the French economy but on the global one by stimulating the match between supply and demand. For those who, unfortunately, will not be able to participate in the fair, M&O offers its digital platform - MOM (Maison&Objet and More), active since 2016. Thanks to this, the brandexhibitorscan broadcast the videos of their collections captured before the fair or on their stand: a unique opportunity to reach distant foreign buyers! Besides, with this new edition, M&O announces the launch of ”Maison & Objet Academy”- a streaming channel that offers exclusive content reserved for decoration, design and lifestyle professionals to help them learn and stay informed, by subscription - at the price of 14,99€ PM.
ARCHIK, a new kind of real estate agency that is shaking up the sector by placing architecture at the center of its activity and by promoting the notion of the Art of Living, opened its doors in Paris.
Located in the heart of the Marais, ARCHIK's new address spans two floors Solid oak, steel and striated glass, the materials give pride of place to this 160 m2 space which houses the ARCHIK teams and his partners. To its global and tailor-made approach, ARCHIK adds the edition of design objects and furniture. Thus, every year, a new edition is designed by a guest designer, who lends himself to the game of co-creation and imagines an exclusive limited-edition piece. Maison ARCHIK Paris hosts ephemeral exhibitions, a curation of design pieces and furniture, and soon exclusive events such as conferences, talks, workshops or chef dinners. It's furnished and decorated like an apartment by guest brands and designers such as Kann Design, Red Édition, JOA and GOODMOODS. On the wall, selected by Murs Blancs, the colorful canvases of the duo Baltus & Person, punctuated with ceramics by Léa Ginac; and in the gallery, the Série 04, Paradis Perdus collection by Marseille designer Margaux Keller, with its variation of seats, vases and glasses with delicate charm, all produced in limited series, putting the South in the spotlight.
Maison Dada and its team are happy to invite you to the exhibition: "AUTOSCOPY, or the incredible Voyage", at the occasion of Paris Design Week, in presence of the designers.
For the new collection, Maison Dada is presenting a series of editions featuring international designers such as Kiki Van Eijk, Claudio Colucci, Najma Temsoury and of course the brand’s artistic director and designer Thomas Dariel. He has imagined an original scenography dedicated to the Ellia Gallery’s setting located in Le Marais. AUTOSCOPY or the Incredible Voyage, takes one to a truly new kind of travel out of yourself, questioning today’s concerns of what is essential, what can extract yourself from your daily obligations and how to stay inspired and useful. Maison Dada’s furniture and objects become the characters of this scenario with a French flare interacting together to create an autoscopic experience. Some would think of Gondry’s universe or Dali’s installations but at the end we are in the very heart of Thomas Dariel’s universe with its singularity and audacity. Colors, shapes and textures of the exhibited creations dynamically dialogue with a sense of humour while adding some new functions to Maison Dada collection (such as vases, clocks, rocking-chair).
Among all the historical gems of the city, we propose you just opened to the public, the historic Musée Carnavalet. After an extensive four-year renovation by Snøhetta, the museum reopens offering a unique travel through time to discover the rich history of Paris through 625,000 artifacts, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, wooden objects, art pieces and photography.
Snøhetta was commissioned along lead architect Chatillon Architectes to undertake the architectural renovation of the museum that is the oldest of all Parisian museums. Because of its significant historic importance, the overall design of the museum is developed in close collaboration with the museum’s scientific and cultural teams, as well as a wide range of experts on the city of Paris. The renovation carefully respects the original features of the building while restoring it to comply with current standards and enhancing the overall museum experience for all visitors. The latter is attained through the establishment of a more intuitive journey through the museum, the courtyards, and gardens, but also by making the building more adapted to children and people with disabilities. 10% of all artefacts are displayed at children’s eye-level. While Chatillon Architectes have overseen the overall museum restauration and redevelopment, Snøhetta has added a touch of novelty to the space through the design of the new furniture pieces in the reception area and contemporary staircases. Snøhetta has also been in charge of the graphic design of the museum’s wayfinding, exhibition sings, panels and mediation equipment that will help facilitate the overall museum visit.
Designed by Studio Lizée-Hugot, the Parisian restaurant Abstinence is a perfect tip if you want to enjoy a good business lunch or an intimate dinner in a stylish venue with a cinematic ambience and ’70s vibe.
Located at the heart of the 16th district, Saint James Paris is the ideal place to stay in the French capital. With its re-opening in July 2021, the five-star Château hotel started a new story, through now 50 rooms and suites, a new restaurant concept, the iconic barlibrary, a Guerlain spa and new areas dedicated to well- being as well as completely redesigned and vast gardens.
To have a complete inspiration of the Parisian savoir-faire, we couldn't help but choose an interior design project that would give you a taste of what the walls of the city's houses reserve. We opted for a Haussmannian apartment re-designed by the architect's duo Caprini & Pellerin, based in Cannnes.
