Presenting Sunriver Magazine Cover Artist Nancy Floyd

Nancy Floyd has been an exhibiting visual artist for 40 years. Her interests include the aging female body, the passage of time, barren landscapes and trees. She uses photography, video and mixedmedia to address the ways in which lens-based media can connect deeply with experience and memory.

In 2021, Floyd’s 39-year self-portrait series, Weathering Time, was published by The International Center of Photography and GOST Books. A second printing, with new work, will be published in 2022. The book was shortlisted for numerous prizes and in 2020 the work was featured in the New Yorker Photobooth and i-D Magazine.

Floyd’s artwork is in the collection of the Center for Creative Photography (Tucson, Arizona), the High Museum of Art (Atlanta, Georgia), Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago, Illinois), Lightwork (Syracuse, New York) and in numerous private collections.

Floyd holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and is Emerita Professor in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University. She lives in Bend. nancyfloyd.com • @nancyfloydartist
