Shout out to Tonya Higgs (Purchasing Manager).

This is an appreciation note for a one-of-a-kind boss. Not many people have the privilege to work under someone as caring and understanding as Tonya. Having her as a boss helps the whole work experience. Her willingness to help and give guidance is just a couple of the things that make her a great boss. Thanks for all you do Tonya!

Management did her January 7th birthday RIGHT! She spent it in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with her husband (pictured below) and friends!

Ann Bothwell has retired at the end of January. Ann joined Duke in July 1990 working in Duke’s Internal Audit Office. After leaving the Audit Office, Ann worked in Endowment Administration and subsequently became Director of the Bursar’s Office. During Ann’s tenure in the Bursar’s Office, she led the Bursar team while Duke implemented PeopleSoft for Duke’s student billing and payments. After meeting that challenge, Ann later transferred to Treasury Services to lead/teach many of her Duke colleagues the ropes of international banking. In the last ten years of her tenure, Ann has led Duke’s Corporate Cash Management function as her team has responded to Duke’s ever-changing cash and forecasting needs.

It’s during these last few years that we have seen our colleague begin her personal international explorations around Europe. As Ann closes her 35-year journey with Duke, we send her our best wishes for her next journey!
