Welcome to our New Chairman of the Board A le@er from our Chairman of the Board, Bernie Greenberg I am honored and privileged to be the 2017-2018 Chairman of the Board for the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. It is also an honor to work with Pam Ridler, the President and CEO. She is one of the most dedicated and diligent leaders in our community. Being a member of the chamber, working on commi@ees and serving on the board of directors is part of my commitment to our community and my striving to be a cataly9c leader. I am honored and humbled to serve the chamber, our members and the Town of Castle Rock. “Igni9ng the passion for business success and community prosperity” is the vision of the chamber. I am excited to be part of the chamber's effort of igni9ng passion for all chamber members and Castle Rock's success. Igni9ng passion to me means helping to light that spark, that flame that exists in each of us to move forward and strive for that beyond our reach. One of the many things I love about our chamber is how the chamber helps it's members through programs to not only ignite passion for success but to fan the flame of that passion. I commit to you to carry on this tradi9on. For all of us, due to economic or personal circumstances, this spark, our passion can wain or be dimmed. We all, from 9me to 9me welcome encouragement, support and hope to keep our passion burning bright. The Castle Rock Chamber provides all this and more. I know because the chamber has provided all of those to me. Part of my passion for Castle Rock is for our chamber to help you in moving towards all of your goals and dreams. I have lived in Douglas County for almost 30 years. I love Castle Rock for its unique history, local charm, its beau9ful views and its people. As said by former chair Mike Tafoya, "I appreciate the diversity of our community from the very rural ranches to our historic downtown and to our upscale suburban areas." I commi@ed years ago to do my part every day to promote Castle Rock, it's people and businesses and be part of this community's future and success. Will you join me in this wonderful and fun effort? As the Chairman of the Board, my goal is to help the chamber and other leaders throughout our region to embrace and advance our vision. This is a big goal and each of us is responsible for carrying out this mission as we are all cataly9c leaders, in our families, businesses and this community. Your membership in the chamber is part of this. Your par9cipa9on in chamber programs helps to advance this vision and mission. I ask for your help in the effort to ignite and fan the passion for the success of Castle Rock. Thank you, Bernie Greenberg --------------------------------------------------------------Bernard H. Building Community Leadership—
Class of 2017
Members of the 2017 Class of Leadership Douglas County (LDC) graduated on June 7, at the Highlands Ranch Mansion
ALWAYS REMEMBERED Leaving a legacy, through a significant class project, is the goal of each Leadership Douglas County (LDC) class. This year’s class chose to provide Douglas County with a las9ng reminder of the sacrifices made and the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001, with the installa9on of the Castle Rock 9/11 Monument. The centerpiece of the monument (photo le?) is a twisted piece of steel from the World Trade Center, which now rests on a pedestal of locally quarried rhyolite just outside of the Castle Rock Fire Department Local 4116 headquarters on the corner of Perry and Third in downtown Castle Rock, Colorado. A somber and s9rring ceremony for the unveiling of the monument was held on Saturday, June 10 for the community. If you couldn’t a@end the ceremony, please visit the fire sta9on to view the Monument at your leisure; it's a stunning and sobering tribute. Many thanks to all who contributed and supported the effort. And may we never forget the great evil which occurred—and the heroic ac9ons of so many brave men and women—on that fateful day nearly 16 years ago. Sponsors of the project included: ASI Signs, Awards with More, Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, Castle Rock Fire & Rescue, CELL - Counterterrorism Educa on Learning Lab, Donna Sco), Felsburg Holt & Ullevig, KL&A, Inc., Leadership Douglas County Class of 2017, Lieutenant Oren Bersagel-Briese, Sam’s Club – Castle Rock, Sco)y Mar n – reVision Inc., Sky Ridge Medical Center, SNS Iron Works, Inc., Uncle Maddio’s Pizza and White Construc on Group.
