Diverse Sports Offerings: From soccer to tennis, our athletic program offers opportunities to explore a variety of sports and build skills as well as passions.
Championship Success: Cate teams have won multiple CIF championships in recent years across different sports including football and boys and girls tennis, demonstrating both competitive spirit and excellent team spirit.
Experienced Coaches: Our coaches, many of whom are also teachers, emphasize and are skilled at character development and personal growth on and off the field.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Top-notch facilities include fully equipped gyms, pool, courts, fields, and athletic training resources, along with a track that is being remodeled in 2024.
Place-Based Offerings: Unique offerings each year based on our premiere California location include surfing, kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking in partnership with our skilled outdoors program.

Our athletic endeavors are key to shaping successful, joyful, intelligent, and happy young people. Balancing our high-level academic schedule with co-curricular programs is important to our coaches. This is the secret sauce that allows us to be competitive with schools ten times our size, who spend far more hours training and practicing. Our students derive great joy and friendships from the community they create, while trusted adults help them to be their very best in their ambitions endeavors.
The result is a stellar program with exceptional championship runs at the state level every year. Cate students go beyond the Mesa to play collegiate sports at top universities, and most importantly, become better people and exceptional leaders along the way.
