hope AND peace.
We begin with the world premiere of an epic work written in 1917 as an “ecumenical requiem” for World War I. I am honored to welcome Maestro Leonard Slatkin as our special guest conductor for this national project celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day. Rachmaninoff’s sacred choral music holds a very special place in my heart, and in March we delve together into his Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. In May, we offer another heartfelt, hopeful response to World War I with Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. I am excited to invite you to join me in this 2018.19 season as I begin my journey with the Cathedral Choral Society!
