Dear Hereford Breeders, Welcome to the 107th National Western and the “Mile High Night” National Hereford Sale. The powerful showing of Herefords on the hill and in the yards has caught the attention of many cattlemen regardless of their breed loyalty. We are excited to announce the Mile High Night sale will be conducted on the stadium floor this year. Many remember the great Hereford sales in years past conducted on the National Western stadium floor. This will offer a bigger area to preview the cattle before the sale and plenty of seating for the Mile High Night sale. This year’s sale offering offers strong generations of genetics from the top Hereford operations in North America. The sale features a stout offering of bulls. A concerted effort has been set forth to offer a set of bulls that can headline many programs in addition to having a genetically superior bull walk the pasture after an AI program. Bulls from past Denver sales have made their impact in the Hereford industry. This offering has already done its share of winning in national sales this fall. If you are considering a top Hereford bull for your operation please take some time and review the bulls in this sale. They are a stellar set. The female offering has traditionally been top shelf, offering some of the best genetics to be found in the Hereford business. Again sale management has reached out to gather more outstanding females for the sale this year. The “Mile High Night” affair offers females from the top operations across the country. This sale will also feature pick of the herd, outstanding pregnancies, a superior selection of embryos and some outstanding pregnant recipients with breed leading genetics. This year the sale will be conducted after the yard show is completed on Friday afternoon. Sale management has the privilege of adding lots to the sale selected from all the Hereford entries that show or display in Denver. Combine this with the outstanding consignments in this sale catalog and the “Mile High Night” promises to be an event for all serious Hereford breeders. We want to thank Tennessee River Music for donating the foundation heifer—Lot 1 this year to the sale. All the proceeds will be donated to HYFA. This heifer will be located in the Kottkamp stalls on the hill, We also want to thank Bushy Park and T Bone Ranch for their gracious lot donations in this sale to HYFA as well. We would like to invite Hereford breeders from across North America to join us for this great Hereford evening. The sale starts at 6 p.m. (MST) and this year there will be plenty seats on the “Stadium Floor”. We look forward to seeing you in Denver. Feel free to contact us if we can answer any questions or provide additional information.
Sincerely, Eddie C. Sims and Joe Rickabaugh

Sis E44 334, was one of the most influential donors to ever walk at TRM. The first time I saw Sis was in the pasture as a weaned heifer calf at Highview Farms. She was purchased and brought to TRM and a lasting and wonderful friendship between myself and Leo Corley was born. When she had her first calf, I was visited by my friend, Eddie Sims, who was immediately drawn to the sight of Sis. He pulled his glasses down, looked at her, and said, “Where did she come from?” I said, “I bought her from Leo, why?” He replied, “Do you know where her mother is?” I said, “Yes, and I bought her too!” Eddie said, “That’s one fine female.” I have always had a lot of respect for Eddie and his family and boy was he right! Leo had raised one of the most amazing females that I have ever had the honor of owning. Sis is the dam of the 2-time Southeastern Show Heifer of the Year, TRM 334 Tho 0222, herd sires such as the Genex sire, TRM HV 334 Grand Finale 4008, and the Southeastern Show Bull of the year and herd sire, TRM HV 334 High Energy 3228, who is in the top 1% of the breed for weaning weight, yearling weight, milk and growth, fat, BMI$, BII$ and CHB$ and in the top 5% for ribeye area. To say that Sis has had a huge impact in our herd is an understatement. Sis’s daughter, TRM 334 4031 6104, made a true impression as well. 6104 is the great-grandam of the high-selling $40,000 donor, TRM Cowgirl 8066, sold at the Star Lake Cattle Ranch Dispersal this past October. The sad thing about this incredible story is that Sis and 6104 are deceased, but their influence will last forever. Our dear friends, Leo and Allene Corley, would be very proud to see their Hereford traditions carried on. • Whether it has been in the showring, in the donor pen or raising a calf, these cows work. And the significance that Lulu’s sire, CS Boomer 29F, has had on the Hereford breed is an enduring and powerful one. The opportunities are endless for this young heifer, Lulu, as she is built on a solid foundation of functional, eye-appealing cows that perform and can flat raise a calf!

He has a stunning look about him coupled with meat, middle and bone. He is extremely stout made with very REMITALL ONLINE 122L {SOD,CHB}{DLF,HYF,IEF} smooth joints and is big footed. The coolest thing about this young bull besides power in a DM L1 DOMINETTE 820 package is he can really move. He takes a long easy stride and fills his tracks every time. He has REMITALL ONLINE 122L {SOD,CHB}{DLF,HYF,IEF} a nice flex and set to his pasterns. Tankeray has a really soft look about him. He has a big time BR L1 DOMINETTE 5078 rib shape and capacity. He is also loaded with muscle. He scanned a 16.68 in. ribeye, ranking him in the TOP 1% in the breed. He is also ranked in the TOP 1% for fat with an actual 3.36 measurement for %IMF. He scanned a 0.42 backfat and 0.46 rumpfat at one year of age. He is also in the TOP 5% for CHB$. If you want to raise beef, you need this bull. If you are looking for maternal, you need this bull. He has a 23 number on milk and ranks in the TOP 10% for maternal traits. • Tankeray already made friends when he took Reserve Grand Champion honors at the recent American Royal and North American International Livestock shows. • Please join us in the Hereford Suite at the Denver Stockyards on Tankeray night, Thursday, Jan. 17th following the bull show. This young bull has unlimited marketing potential and will make his stamp on the Hereford world. Come be part of it with us! • Selling ½ semen interest and ½ possession.

• An exciting herd sire here and just what we are looking for in today’s industry. Right Track is moderate in his design, bold middle, big boned, soft made and extremely deep sided. When you get behind him, he is thick, carrying his thickness all the way down into his lower one-third. His dark red color sets him off with an exceptional look. With this look, Right Track has already been named the 2012 World Beef Expo Champion Bull as a calf and 2012 NAILE Calf Champion. • Right Track’s dam is one of the top producing cows at Perks Ranch and is on her way to becoming a Dam of Distinction with her consistency of raising two high performing calves. Her first calf had a WW ratio of 120 and Right Track has a WW ratio of 126. She will enter our transplant program this year after calving. Right Track’s sire, Bailout, needs no introduction as he has been one of the hottest and highest selling semen bulls these past few years. Bailout consistently produces top calves that are in demand. • Study his numbers as they are balanced across the board and rank above breed average in 9 of the 11 measurable traits. Right Track was born at a conservative 88 lb. and on Sept. 15, 2012, pushed the scales down to a whopping 89 lb. This bull is what the industry needs and represents the kind of bulls we are striving to produce here at Perks Ranch. So, if you want to get your herd on the RIGHT TRACK, here he is! • Selling ½ interest, ½ possession.

• We feel Who Maker is one of the most promising young breeding pieces to surface for some time. He is long necked and massive in his build. Big topped and wide hipped with lots of muscle shape and a deep sweeping belly. He is super sound and big footed. Not only is he amazing to look at, but his EPDs are in check. ECR Who Maker 210 ET has created quite a stir with Hereford enthusiasts who have seen him this summer on the cow and at the American Royal. He is backed by a beautifully uddered mother who combines maternal Line 1 and the power and look of Pure Gold. Whether you are looking to raise show heifers, herd bulls or great momma cows, Who Maker’s opportunities are endless. He will be a bull calf to contend in Denver and the bull that will out perform in the pasture. • Selling full possession and ½ semen interest (equal semen revenue with future partners).

• A super set of three full flush sisters sired by one of the breeds leading sires, Titlest. The breeding proof of sons and daughters by Titlest makes this an attractive productive package for any discriminating breeder. Their dam ,8072 (pictured), is an outstanding donor in our program at JR Beef. She is a beautiful uddered daughter of PW Victor Boomer P606. Your selection of one of these females should prove her to be a competitive and a productive individual.

Pick of any Female in the Rausch Herd • This has been a feature lot in the National Hereford sale for several years. When you look at the list of buyers who have taken advantage of this opportunity, it is pretty impressive. • The buyer has access to all herd records including HerdMaster records. The buyer may select from well over 1,200 polled and horned females. This includes all of the Rausch donors. 605 cows have qualified for the Dam of Distinction list since 1980. There were 43 new qualifiers this year. • It is impressive to see all the cows, calves and sires in their natural breeding pastures. A full list of females will be provided prior to selection. Records can be sorted on any trait in the largest in herd database in the breed. • For more pictures and information, go to www.RauschHerefords.com.

Breeder after breeder this summer and fall have expressed their appreciation of the Git-R-Done daughters, “Best udder, heaviest milking and easiest keeping cattle we have ever owned,” are just the start of positive comments we have received. Add in the mainstay Josi cow family that originated in the Durham Ranch program from Stillwater, Oklahoma, and the table for success is set. Josi Jr 2040 sorts herself to the top of her contemporary group on merits of femininity, rib shape and documentation, ranking in the top 10% of the breed for WW, YW, M&G, CEM and CHB$ Index. Pick of 2013 NWSS Pen of heifers • We are offering your pick of our 2013 NWSS Pen of Heifers. On the farm this past year, we took a lot of chances and almost all paid off. The top four heifers this year include two flushmates of a 2-year-old shown at NWSS two years ago and a good investment bull from Cooper’s. We had a lot of hope for CL 1 Domino 0145X and we weren’t disappointed with three fancy females here. On the off chance that your first pick is not 0145X daughters, then we have 1201. She has a beautiful dark red color that makes her clean lines and nice hip pop. The 1201 heifer is a 5216 granddaughter sired by the top selling bull from our 2011 Bull Sale. • This could be the opportunity of the year! You are getting the pick of five heifer calves out of NJW BW Ladysport Dew 78P ET, the “Power Cow.” The first two heifers are sired by THM Durango 4037, making full sisters to the heifer that topped the NJW production sale in 2012 at $62,500. The final three heifers are sired by KJ HVH 33N Redeem 485T ET that recently had a granddaughter of the 78P cow top the Hoffman sale, bringing in $53,000 for one-half embryo interest. These five heifers will all be maternal sibs as well to Bailey Buck’s heifer that won banners at Junior National, the American Royal and the National Western. The 78P cow’s offspring have been dominating sales across the country, including the top selling bull, bringing $25,000 at the NJW production sale in 2010, along with the high selling bull commanding $40,000 at the 2011 Breeders Cup sale for Boyd Cattle. At the 2011 National Western sale a 78P daughter was also selected as the pick of the NJW herd for $22,000. This group of calves will be due the first part of March and you can make your selection by August. The 78P cow’s offspring have been creating more buzz in the breed than any other female. Do not miss this opportunity to get into the most recent and proven “Power Cow” genetics.

• 31Z is very feminine and has that extension and neck angle we like to see in great females. She is a no miss in the numbers game as she ranks in the top 1% for WW, 10% for YW, 15% for Milk and 5% for M&G in the Hereford breed. She is sound, red legged and very correct. Plus, by one of the most talked about young herd sires on the scene today, Mr Hereford, and out of one of our strongest cow families, we feel 31Z is the best we have ever consigned to the National Sale. This cow family has seen much success in past National sales as Priscilla, the dam of 31Z, sold for ½ interest for $9,000 in 2010. In the 2011 National sale a maternal brother to Priscilla sold for ½ interest for $8,500 and a maternal sister sold for $4,900. Priscilla, her full brother Currency and her maternal brother McClintock were all class and division winners at the National Western. All of these individuals trace back to the cornerstone of our embryo program who is the grandam of 31Z, CC CX Fortress Thunder 28R. We feel these ladies are doing what they are supposed to as they are out producing themselves in the next generation. The terms will be announced sale day.

• This is a powerful mating that features the 2012 National Western Hereford Show Supreme Grand Champion and the pick of females from the Sparks Kimbrough dispersion by Kaczmareks. The progeny of Trust are being noted across the country as some of the really good ones. This female has already been a great producer in the Kaczmarek program. The EPD profile on this mating is great. The genetic punch this mating brings forward is second to none.

• Offering 6 transferrable embryos on your choice of two matings: Redeem x MCR Dominette 808 or NJW 73S M326 Trust 100W ET x MCR Harlands Helen 028. • The two donor dams have proven themselves to be elite Hereford cows in our breeding program. Both dams are sired by Harland 408, a bull who is a breed leader and an 11-star trait leader in all performance traits. The progeny performance on 408 – 559 daughters’ 989 calves ratio 101.4. BW 2246/99.5, WW 2057/101.1, YW 1401/101.3, REA 1095/100.9, IMF 1097/105.6. • 808’s dam, 239, a Pure Gold daughter out of 552’s mother, had a successful show career as a spring yearling at the American Royal and the NWSS. 808’s progeny performance is WW 2/123.5, YW 2/117.5. • 028 calved as a two-year-old in spring 2012, and at that point we knew we had another great donor prospect. Her dam, 761, is in the Bowling Herefords’ breeding program. 028 and her spring 2012 heifer calf were Champion Cow/Calf Pair at the 2012 Kansas State Fair.

• Harley is the matriarch for Bushy Park Farm and Tucker Cattle Company and her progeny are quickly becoming some of the most sought after genetics in the country. She was crowned the 2006 National Champion Female in Denver for Blake Tucker, just like her 2-time Denver National Champion sire, Remitall Online 122L. Her offspring are quickly becoming breed leaders and some of the most sought after genetics. Harley has produced several national and reserve national champions including: TCC Ms Shelby 82 ET who was the 2009 Junior National Hereford Expo Champion Bred-and-Owned and Champion Owned Female for Blake Tucker and 2010 Denver National Champion Female. TCC Miss Lexus 84 ET (Lexi) was Mitchell Tucker’s reserve champion horned female in the Denver Junior Show in 2010 out of Harley and SLDK Poseidon R09 ET. A granddaughter of Harley and a daughter of Shelby was named 2011 Junior National Hereford Expo Champion Bred-and-Owned and Reserve Champion Polled Female for Blake Tucker. These embryos are full sibs to the $62,000 high selling heifer in Bushy Park’s Tradition of Excellence sale this fall and sold to Becca Chamberlain in Indiana. • This powerful embryo mating comes to you from the nucleus of two programs that have been built around youth and raising high quality females that stand out in the sale ring and showring. Diana comes from the heart of the Bushy Park and Tucker donor program and is a maternal legend in the making, just like her grandam, Harley. Diana 01 is the reigning 2012 National Champion Female for Blake Tucker and her first natural calf was a sale topper at the 2012 Bushy Park Farms Tradition of Excellence Sale, selling for $40,000. NJW 73S W18 Hometown 10Y topped Ned and Jan Ward’s bull sale and is co-owned with Perks Ranch in Illinois.
Bushy Park Farm and Tucker are backing up their commitment to Hereford youth and the future of this great breed with one guaranteed pregnancy on each of these matings.
