The Sale Committee and I have worked very hard to put together an outstanding lineup of cattle. This sale offers something for everyone. This year’s offering was again assembled with a focus on quality and diversity. As you read through this catalog, you will quickly realize that the consignments represent elite genetics from some of the premier breeders in the U.S. Beef Industry. The value in Brahman & F-1 cattle is being realized in expanded areas due to their efficiency and adaptability. Due to this it is expected that the breed will expand especially for superior seedstock. As you view this offering consider which animals might enhance your program. I am extremely proud of this offering, have hand picked many of the lots, and know that they will work! Although, this event provides an opportunities for members to buy and sell cattle it also serves as a great time to fellowship and meet with other breeders. Missed, but Never Forgotten
The next seven Registered Brahman cattle and lots 101 & 102 purebred Brahmans are all consigned by Infinity Ranch. As you might suspect by the name these cattle are owned by Kasey and myself. We have assembled a small herd over the past 4 years. As most of you are aware Keith Brightwell who auctioned this sale since 2018 passed away in December 2020. Keith oversaw our cattle and due to us living in Houston we simply cannot continue to take care of them. These cattle will be the last ones and the best ones sold. We had many opportunities to sell these cattle but wanted to bring them to this sale as it was an event that we enjoyed doing together and thought it would only be fitting to share these genetics with you. We knew these cattle were special but have really realized just how good they were since overseeing the management. EVERY cow that calved did so unassisted and every calf nursed on its on. EVERY female that was originally selected for this sale and later palpated was pregnant. As you study these cattle you will likely notice that many of them have limited calves. Most of them have been in an F-1 program until they were exposed for the first time in July 2019 to a Brahman bull. Deep South Brahman Association Terms & Conditions BIDDING: Each animal on which there are two or more bids will be sold to the highest bidder. TERMS: All cattle will be paid for immediately after the sale. Checks must be made payable to Meridian Livestock, Inc.. DISPUTES: The auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids and his decision on such matters will be final. HANDLING: As their sale is effected, all animals will be maintained at the purchaser’s risk. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: Every animal in this sale is, to the best of the breeder’s knowledge, free from any disease and are all sound. Pairs and bred females will be considered breeders without further guarantee. Buyer has 30 days from the date of the sale to have an accredited veterinarian check pregnancy status of bred females. Open or exposed females will be guaranteed by the seller to be a breeder for a maximum of one year following the sale date or for young heifers until they reach two years of age. If an animal fails to breed during the previously established time limit, it may be returned to the seller in good condition. Seller reserves the right to try said animal for six months and if it proves to be a breeder, return it at the buyer’s expense. If the animal proves to be a nonbreeder, an animal of comparable rank or credit on the purchase of another animal will be offered. All bulls over 18 months of age will be sold with a Breeding Soundness Exam, Trichomoniasis Test/Virgin Statement, and guaranteed to be breeders. If after a six month period said bull has not settled any cows the bull can be returned for a bull of comparable rank or credit on the purchase of another animal. HEALTH: All necessary health papers will be furnished in order for the cattle to be shipped anywhere. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction box will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog and all other announcements. LIABILITIES: All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and the Deep South Brahman Association, Meridian Livestock, Inc., and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accident that may occur. The Deep South Brahman Association or sale management accepts no liability for the animals after they are sold. CONTRACT: The above terms and guarantee shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller of each animal sold.
