No one deserved to be Lot 1 more. This is the best heifer to ever leave B.J. and Chris’s joint ET program. She is a full sister to the $41,000 sale topper in Texas everyone is talking about. Her jet-necked, big-bellied, great hipped, sound footed physical appearance is enough to excite anyone. n Her National Champion sire is putting them out there and why shouldn’t he: his sire is a National Champion, two of his full sisters were National Champions, his sire’s dam is a National Champion! Then throw in Cigar, Ms Bud 418-1128 and Ms Bud 418 and it all adds up. n As B.J. says, this chick is the real deal, don’t miss out! She is not only a power show heifer, but a donor in the making. She was hard to part with, but they were willing to offer their best and here she is. n

Choice of Silver Spur Pen of Heifers
They came to the pen and carload show in Denver last year and scared the crap out of other exhibitors! The Silver Spur crew will load up the guns again and are bringing an even better set of cattle this year. This is one of the up and coming power Charolais herds building in the west. Can’t wait till the National Western Stock Show to see what you might own? Travel to their Colorado or Wyoming herds and look at a few hundred open heifer calves, to make sure the Silver Spur crew picked the right ones to bring to Denver. Silver Spur Ranch’s Charolais herds date back to the 1950’s. With this long history comes an unwavering commitment to produce Charolais genetics that work for both commercial and registered cattlemen. The exact three head of heifers that will make up this selection hadn’t been narrowed down at catalog printing time, so a supplement of that information will be available closer to sale date. Call or write for detailed pedigree information and pictures. n Selection must be made in the ring!

Here is an opportunity to pick any heifer calf born in 2012 and a flush from the small yet mighty Holen herd. Lacy hit the National spotlight after raising and selling the National Reserve Grand Champion Female and the Junior National Grand Champion Female the summer and fall of 2007. HC Miss Jewel 20S Pld was shown by Nick Curtis, Mexico, Missouri. “Jewel” or “Dakota” as they called her streamed from a long line of maternal giants at the Holen Charolais Ranch. In fact her great granddam #629 is 16 years old and still producing there and is heading to the transplant facility this winter along with “Jewels” dam 18M. n This is a unique double offering: Lot 5A – Selling Choice of their spring 2012 heifer calf crop, including the two heifer calves she will show in Denver or go to the ranch and select there. Selection to be made prior to April 1, 2013. Lot 5B – Guaranteed Successful Flush in HC Miss Jewel 18M, the dam of HC Miss Jewel 20S Pld. Flush work to be done at Yackley Ranches in South Dakota. Power is the best and only word we can think of to best describe this female. The Dix brothers have had their eye on this heifer since birth, knowing she had the potential to show, win and be a donor. They tell me it was extremely hard to decide to part with her, but they couldn’t have raised a better one to represent the Bar D Ranch Charolais herd. She has already been named Supreme Champion at her first big show. Her sire was purchased from the famed Lindskov-Thiel Bull Sale when 2/3 interest sold for $15,000. This is the typical type of daughters he has produced for them. Her dam has been a phenomenal cow in their program. Born in 2004 in the Hubert Charolais Ranch herd her first two daughters had an average adj. weaning weight of 670 lbs. ratio 106 and one bull calf at 715 lbs. ratio 110. Three daughters have sold into purebred herds. Look at this picture and pedigree, it’s all here, POWER! She sells bred to LT Bluegrass 4017 Pld for a fall calf. Selling Choice of 1st Calf Heifers
Last year in Denver during the Charolais in the Rockies sale the Cobb family offered this selection for the first time in many years. They were rewarded with that pick of the 2010 first-calf-heifers selling for $7,100 after a contested bid off. Breeders from across the country were in the seats with their hands up, on the cell phones to the sales staff or on the internet. Riverdale Land and Livestock took the selection home. Bill Nottke knew exactly why he wanted it, he had purchased ABC Latora Lazodoble J847 years ago as a pick of the herd. The Cobb herd is one of the few “closed herds” in the Charolais breed. There is close to 100 head of straight-bred Cobb pedigrees to choose from and they are due to calve starting March 1 through April 15th. They would like this selection to be made by May 15, 2013, after all those heifers have calved out. Opportunity knocks in this beautiful Montana ranch, come and take home a great one.

This exciting offering created so much interest last year that the Eaton family will again open their herd for the winning bidder to select two bred heifers from over 400 head. Last year Wienk Charolais took two bred heifers at $6,750, Southern Cattle Company two at $7,000 and Riverdale two at $6,600. 250 head were bred AI to their new herd sires; LT Blue Mountain, ($75,000) LT Ledger ($105,000), LT Blue Blood ($53,000) and Eatons Blue Leader. n Now, for an even better deal! These selections may be done after these bred heifers calve this spring. Go and select pairs; you will know the sex of the calf, make sure they are AI sired, make sure they have perfect udders and you get to pick two pairs! This is a nobrainer. n 275 of these heifers are in the top 10% of the breed for Milk EPD, all above a +13 Milk number. n Selection to be made by April 1, 2013.

year Creek Cut Ranch brought the Reserve Grand Champion Pen-of- Bulls to Denver, which included bulls that sold for $6,000 and $7,300. This year they bring you this herd sire prospect that is a paternal brother to those bulls and looks even better. n These “Beam” progeny have been exciting this past year including daughters that sold as weaning age calves for $5,000, $3,750 and $10,000. Unfortunately OBGCE Beam was lost at an early age and his semen inventory is minimal, so get in on the ground floor. n His dam is a full E.T. sister to last years high-selling bred cow in The Showgirls Sale at Ridder Farms and goes back to RLL Goin’ Places, National Reserve Grand Champion and $14,000 donor. n He has it all; low birthweight, 800 pound weaning weight, a fall long-yearling ready to breed lots of females this coming spring, and pedigree superiority. If you are looking for a big time herd sire prospect with performance and eyeappealing conformation, check this one out. He comes into Denver after an exciting start to his show career. At only seven months of age DeeJay wins the Grand Champion bull spot at the 2012 Nebraska State Fair. He then shocks some of the “big boys” from other breeds, when he places 3rd during the Supreme Championship drive against all breeds. The Supreme judges declares him, “this calf is just a stud.” Now consider the weaning performance heritage of his pedigree. His sire had a 792 pound weaning weight. His dam’s first two daughters had adjusted weaning weight ratios of 104 and 108. Her last bull calf born in 2010 had a 683 lbs. adj weaning weight to ratio 111 to rank #1 out of 16 bull calves in their herd and this bull comes in at 740 lbs., but was ratio’d by himself because he was showed. They wouldn’t even sell this bull if they didn’t already have a full brother as their herd sire now and he was the Grand Champion bull at the 2010 State Fair. Selling ¾ interest and full possession. Mac Smith is well-known and documented as a successful breeder and judge of the shows in the U.S.. This female is his most successful Charolais donor. He refers to her as “Char” and that’s the name the club calf industry knows her by. She was the 2006 Grand Champion Female at the North American Junior Show. A flush sold shortly thereafter for $8,250 in the Frozen Gold Sale in Denver and then a year later selling for $13,500. Adam Odden purchased a flush in 2011 and turn it into a $17,000 percentage heifer for the clubby business. Mac had originally purchased her from Odden Charolais Ranch and they knew what they were doing by going back to her. Char is due to calve in early February and will be ready to flush at that time. She has averaged over 13 embryos per flush. A minimum of seven (7) transferable embryos is guaranteed.

are bidding on the genetics of the dam of DCR Mr Solution W13! Solution was the top selling bull during the 2010 Doll Charolais Bull Sale when ABS Global, Hubert Charolais Ranch and Broberg Charolais took him home for $12,000 ¾ interest. He has quickly established himself as a breeding bull. 8 of his sons averaged $5,406 this past spring at David Hubert’s Bull Sale. n JCH MS Bull Dozer blends together the best of many bloodlines from Canada and the U.S. including HTA Whitehot, Mr Perfect, LT Easy Pro and Unlimited Ease. She has performance bred in. When she weaned off at 752 lbs. and ratio’d 115, to rank 10th out of 156 head you had to pay attention. Then she produced Mr Solution at 21 ½ months of age to a whopping 840 lbs. and her next bull calf at 761 lbs.. n Brent Thiel has shared two flushes with the Dolls to LT Bridger and LT Blue Value and she has been a great embryo producer. Ms Bull Dozer is due to calve again in March and will be available to flush shortly thereafter.

An opportunity to flush one of the only breeding age females ever sold out of the famed Lindskov-Thiel program. LT Blue Ballerina 9405 Pld was Abbey Thiels choice for a show heifer out of all of the 2009 born heifer calves at Lindskov-Thiel Ranch. Her selection was correct as she went on to be selected the Reserve Division Champion at the Junior Nationals in 2010 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. That maybe didn’t seem that shocking until two months later when two of the heifers she beat in division that day went on to be the National and Reserve National Champion Females in Kansas City! Mike Kisner put her on his to buy list. n Her dam is an AICA Dam of Distinction and a flush in her sold for $8,000 in the 2011 Charolais in the Rockies Sale. Four full sib embryos to LT Blue Ballerina 9405 also totaled $3,400 that same day. She hasn’t been flushed a lot, but she has been successful with several progeny. The first daughter that sent her recognition was ACE-JJS Kirbe Firebud! She was many times a champion for Calvin Dix culminating with her Supreme Champion selection at the competitive 2009 Kansas State Fair. Two more successful show heifers were WIA Miss Trixie’s Delight and WIA Miss J Lo Pld for Echo Nord in Illinois. Big H Ranch sent Big H Cool Drink of Water to the Deutsch’s for $4,000 in the 2011 Northern Exposure. Matt Loggain’s bought a daughter for $4,800 from Ridder Farms to win many jackpots in Arkansas. And finally the Gall’s in Nebraska made one that has scared lots of breeders in the shows. Buy into a proven producer of winners. She will be ready to flush shortly after the Denver Stock Show at the Polzin Embryo Center and that flush can easily be made exportable.

THOMAS MS IMPRESSIVE0641
Relatively unknown breeder Adrian Harris has quietly over the years, gathered up some of the best genetics available in the Charolais breed. Here is one of these masterpieces. This mating is the next step in the well-known Thomas Ranch and Polzin Cattle genetic success stories. The sire of these embryos is the 2012 National Western Grand Champion Diablo that had three weaned daughters average $6,500 in the 2012 Northern Exposure Sale. The dam of these embryos is another of the sleepers, but a full sister to the three National Champions Firegirl, Ivory Angel and Turton. A mating to set your satchel down on!

We could use more like them today! n SS The Kats Meow is sired by Stacker, the breeds $240,000 sire and done that before eight months of age! His sire is AJ, a two-time National Champion Bull. Sonderup Charolais won the Nebraska Cattleman’s Classic and had high-seller with a daughter, Keith Herr raised Cool Whip by him, Odden’s won South Dakota Spotlight Show with a Stacker. Sullivan’s bought a $8,000 Stacker daughter, a Heat Wave daughter out of Stacker’s dam sold for $37,000! The Stacker partners went on the ride of their lives. There is genetic power in this female. n

An opportunity like this does not present itself often enough! A straight bred HooDoo donor! She sells with a 12 embryo guarantee if flush work completed at Polzin Embryo Center in Minnesota where she resides today. Her sire 7090 was the next bull of two head that was on HooDoo manager George Brown’s radar for future generations of HooDoo’s. This female is linebred HooDoo George 8083 who is best know as “Dot” and is the bull that the Charolais Journal uses the famous picture of in promotion of our breed….the bull standing on the side of the mountain in the sage brush. Z1054 first calved in 2003 to Red Angus sire. They did not register cattle after 2002. In 2006 she was sold from HooDoo and was leased to a prominent club calf producer where many Friction ET’s were produced, until 2012 when she was sent to Polzin Embryo Center. Z1054’s dam is still in production at 17 years of age and is the lead donor at Leo Brothers. Two daughters were sold into the club calf world in 2010 for $7,250 and $6,200, the last a Monopoly heifer that had an extremely successful jackpot show career. And now the icing on the cake - She sells with 3 units of semen and 3 signings of your choice of twenty-six HooDoo sires from the original HooDoo semen bank, including Slasher and Prince’s sires!
