SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Any terms and conditions not covered by the catalog will refer to the Standard Terms & Condtions set forth by the Red Angus Association of America.

GILL RED ANGUS GUARANTEE All bulls that are in good breeding condition at the beginning of the first breeding season are guaranteed breeders. This does not include any injury. Any bull that settles one third or more of the healthy cows he services or passes a fertility test made by a competent veterinarian during the first six months after the sale date is considered a good breeder. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made within six months of sale date.

All bulls returned must be in good and healthy condition.

Any bulls given a fertility test within the first six months after the sale date will be at the buyer’s expense. All bulls are guaranteed to be breeders, however, no guarantee is given that the semen collected from a bull will freeze.

Cattle will sell in catalog order, but are subject to change on sale day.

A supplement sheet will be online and available sale day for Scrotal measurements, and ultrasound data for Fall and Spring born bulls.

The Gill Red Angus Customer Marketing Program “You Buy Our Bulls, We Will Bid on Your Calves” Something that sets us apart from most of our competition is our Customer Service Program. Our slogan is “You buy our bulls and we will bid on your calves.” This has really helped our customers on selling day. We ran some calves up as much as $5 per hundredweight. You add that up on a load of 600-pound steers, and you made an extra $2,500 just by being our customer. Compare that to our sale average the last couple years - that’s a free bull.

How can you go wrong?

Here is how it works: First you must be a Gill Red Angus customer. At marketing time, contact Gill Red Angus with the marketing option you wish to pursue: •Complete Retained Ownership •Partial/Partnership Retained Ownership •Livestock Auction or Off-the-Farm Marketing - Sell 100% of your calves off-the-farm or at the stockyards and a Gill staff member will be there to place a bid on them for you.

•Replacement Heifer Marketing - Market your top-quality open and bred heifers through our annual production sales in February. (We have spent thousands of dollars on advertising over the years. Use our past advertising and known name to market your replacement females.) Call for more information.

•Discounted semen available to all customers who want to AI. •Discounted vet supplies through DeTye Vet Supply.

When possible, we will work with our customers to help form co-mingled loads of calves.

Upon harvest, if possible, Gill Red Angus will prepare a report, complete with feed yard and harvest data, for your use.

We are also available for consultations regarding breeding, replacement heifer procurement, and all marketing options. We will help you in any way we can to make your bottom dollar grow.

160 Commercial Open Heifers This is again a super set of heifers. The quality keeps getting better and better every year. The consignors are the same as past years with the exception of one new rancher. Tarter Ranch from Camp Crook, SD, Hoffland Ranch from Reeder, ND and the Hitz Ranch from New Rockford, ND are all past consignors, while the new consignor, Tracy Collins, from Prairie City, SD will also have a smaller group of heifers consigned.

Everyone of these ranchers have been buying bulls from us for several years now. All of these heifers will be close to 100% Red Angus, as they have been breeding Red Angus bulls to Red Angus cows for several years now.

Over the last four years, most of the heifers have been purchased by only two buyers, as they sit back and wait all year for this good group of heifers, because they work. They will be again weighing around that 700 lbs mark. We will be selling by the head with a minimum of 5 head and the buyer can take as many as he wants out of that consignors heifers. Once his heifers are gone, we will then sell the next group.

What a way to start off this sale. This guy is a machine. He is really long bodied, deep made, classy, and really thick and wide based.

He is a herd bull deluxe. His dam is at the flush facility at Heart River Genetics in North Dakota. She is a very well made cow who is easy keeping, good footed, has a super udder, and is a calf raising fool. Her MPPA is a whopping 108, while both his grand dam and great grand have a 102 MPPA. This guy is an outcross for most purebred breeders as he has no Cherokee Canyon or Lancer breeding, but he does go back to Julian, King Rob, and Coyote.

Here is an extremely thick made bull. Red Dawg is known for siring thick offspring and it proves it in this offering. 9772 is a well-made bull with loads of power and muscle. He is out of a top cow who has a 107 MPPA and always brings in a top one. He has a great pedigree as well, as he goes back to Gemstone. We purchased Gemstone from Bullis Creek in Nebraska. He is out of their top cow, the great Sodak Gem cow. She is made as well as you could want. If you want a herdsire who sires muscle performance and top daughters, here is your bull.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that this guy is the most powerful bull we have ever raised and maybe the most powerful bull to sell in several years. But the great thing about him is that he isn’t in a huge frame. He has more length, is thicker made, and deeper bodied than most bulls in this great breed. He has it all. His dam is a good cow who is well made, sound, and raises the good ones. I am not sure why her Milk EPD is as low as it is, as she does a good job. But don’t let that number slow you down. He will sire offspring that will be very easy to sell and will weigh up better at weaning than most other cattle and will finish heavier and earlier than others as well. His daughters will be easy keeping, sound, and good rancher type cows. Come check him out, you will be impressed.

This old cow did it again. Year after year she brings in a top calf. 9739 is her best yet. He is flat good. Her MPPA is 102. We used a maternal brother to her a few years back as well. This is the kind of bull that every feeder would like his feedlot calves to be sired by, as his calves will gain weight cheaper and faster than most other calves. This is the reason we keep getting more and more orders for feeder calves from feeders. Yet, his daughters will be easy keeping and milk the right amount. It is no coincidence that the first 5 bulls in the sale are all Red Dawg sons.

Year after year, the quality of his sons rises to the top. 9746 is at the top of his class. He is thick, long, and deep made. His sons will be extremely easy to look at and sell, while his daughters will be some stretchy made, easy keeping, good producing cows. His dam is another daughter of the good Gemstone bull. His daughters are doing just what we had hoped when we purchased him. You will like this guy.

If easy keeping daughters are what you are looking for, then look no further than Lot 6. He is a deep made, soggy bull with a lot of muscle and length to him. He is very sound on his feet and legs and has a lot of eye appeal. We used him naturally on 30 head of our registered cows this summer. We are confident that he will sire some outstanding daughters who don’t need any extra feed to stay in top condition. His sire, is a bull that we sold to Bull Hill Red Angus of South Carolina and McLean Red Angus of Georgia. We have AI’d to him a couple times and have always liked his calves. His dam, LMG Sara 015 is an extremely deep made cow and his grand dam is the great LMG Sara 817 cow. This pedigree will add depth and easy fleshing in one generation. This guys dam has a good 105 MPPA. The daughters by this guy will be outstanding.

Here is another very deep made bull that is extra smooth in his structure, but yet has good muscle to him. Here is another really smooth made bull with gobs of capacity, good muscle, and length of body. The sire is the good LMG Gills Widespread 6800 that was our high selling bull a couple years ago selling to Brenner Angus of North Dakota. He is a moderate made bull that is deep, long and thick. He gets his great eye appeal from his dam, the great LMG Dynette 902. She was our top cow, until her daughter came along. This is a line that never fails. Rambler 75R’s dam is one of the best looking cows I have ever seen. She is deep, sound, has a great udder, and is a calf raising fool. She was raised by OHR Red Angus and sold at auction for $17,500 to Six Mile Red Angus in Canada. Ramblers daughters are sound and good uddered. You will like this guy

Here is a new sire for us. We purchased Lantry from Spear J Red Angus in Montana a couple years back. He was a thick made bull with a lot of class to him. He grew into a rugged made bull who sires powerful calves with some calving ease built in. We have liked his calves so far and I think you will too. He goes back to three very high maternal bulls, Dakota Copper, Logan, and Milky Way. 9754’s dam is a top cow as well who has a 108 MPPA who goes back to Wide Spread, Monu 4X and Run Cloud. OK, if you want a very moderate framed bull that has every base covered, then you have to have a look at this guy. He will be the one you buy. Like I said, he is quite moderate in frame, but boy is he a deep pig shaped bull. He is also quite long made and very thick. Then take a look at his performance of 60 lbs at birth and nearly 750 lbs at weaning. We got the semen from Lucht Red Angus in Montana and it worked. To top it off, he stems back to the great LMG Sara 328 cow, who is the dam to Sara 817 and grand dam of Sara 015. This is a top cow family and a top bull. Lot 92A is as good as they come. First lets talk about his dam. She is a 1997 model Rambo 502 daughter that we purchased in the Straka Dispersal sale. She was a bred heifer at the time and has done an absolutely great job her entire career.

She has excellent feet and a terrific udder. 7542 is the type of cow that stays in excellent condition year round on grass alone. She is the kind of cow that we like to flush, and we have in the past. Her sons have always been in the top pen, and we have sold them all over the country. She has some excellent daughters in our herd as well. Lantry 9710 is a real long bodied bull who has good depth of rib and an excellent rear quarter, as he has good muscle up top and bottom. His back is wide made and he walks wide as well. He has a herdbull look to him and knows it.

His pedigree is excellent, as some of the absolute best genetics are lined-up. On top he goes back to Dakota Copper 29K, Milkyway, and Logan 210, and then on the bottom he goes back to Rambo 502. His dam has a 111 MPPA, while his sire’s dam has a 103 MPPA. This bull is good, his pedigree is good, and his calves will be great. He has a pedigree that is proven, but yet has something different enough to be an outcross to most cows in the breed. Come have a look!

OK, here is the other choice bull. Just like Lot 92A, he is a natural son of a donor cow. 023 has been flushed a few times and is currently at the Polzin Flush Center in Minnesota. She is a very easy keeping cow, who has lots of body and is very sound. So far, we have sold sons to several top commercial ranches. A Rattler son to Sandy Willow Red Angus of South Dakota and last year a Dakota Rambler son to Pieper Red Angus of Nebraska. She has some top daughters in our program as well. She has always been a calf raising fool and has earned herself a 107 MPPA and she will be 11 years old in April. Red Dawg 9906 is her best son yet, and I think the best Red Dawg son to date. He is a chunk of muscle from front to back, long bodied, and gentle. He has a herd bull look to him. 9906 has really good feet and legs under him, and is ready to breed cows. Usually when I take photos I have to take several before I get a decent one, but this guy just walked right up and I snapped it within 30 seconds! He is good and knows it as he likes to pose. He has a good set of numbers, looks good and a great pedigree that is a bit different to most herds across this good breed. His maternal grandsire is a full brother to the $50,000 Miss Forster Cprtop 591. What more could you want?

Wow, this was a great flush. These 5 full brothers are about as good as they come. They are moderate made, but big enough to add the pounds at weaning. Very deep ribbed, thick, wide, dark red, and good footed, all while having a good disposition. They are sired by the good Norseman King bull that is so popular and ABS markets semen on.

His daughters make very good deep ribbed cows that can do it in any environment. The donor dam to these is one of the best King Rob daughters to date. She is a big bodied cow with good feet and legs under her and milks like crazy. She is really classy made, with a lot of stretch to her. LMG Gills No Doubt Maternal Brother to Lot 126

What can I say about this guy’s maternal pedigree? His grand dam, pictured here, was what we called our best cow ever. But, then her daughter, 3041 came along, and we feel that she took her place. Dynette 902 has sold nearly $200,000 worth of progeny and has averaged nearly $4000.

Her high dollar calf was her daughter LMG Dynette 3041, where we sold 50% interest to Lucht Red Angus, MT for $10,500. We are currently using 2 sons in our program. She will really add some middle, muscle, and eye appeal. We have something like 15 daughters in our herd as well.

This guys dam, LMG Miss Dynette 3041 will do it year after year, no matter what she is bred to. Last year she sold a $23,000 son, for ½ interest, who we used very hard this year, a $6,000 son, a couple $4,000 sons and a flush to Kevin Bierke of Nebraska for $5000. This summer we put in around 40 eggs out of her, and plan on taking her back to flush next summer. We want to get as much out of her as we possibly can. The sire to this guy is the no miss VGW Rattler 908 bull. His daughters are good cows and know how to do it on grass alone. His daughters milk way better than his numbers say. In fact, it is a bit frustrating, as his milk EPD was 80% proven and he had an 8, well after the run last fall, it dropped like a rock. Heck his daughters are starting to get old and are proven out. It doesn’t make any sense to me at all. But I guess we have to live with it.

Lot 124 is a big bodied, dark red bull with a lot of muscle and style. His sons are going be very attractive and easy to sell, while his daughters are going to be flashy, classy, and sassy. He is very sound and good. Come get him.
