OUR 4TH ANNUAL SALE

Thank you for your interest in our Registered Hereford Bulls and Heifers. Hadley and I feel honored and blessed to be able to provide the quality of bulls and females in this sale today. We believe that you will find our cattle are just the kind you’re looking for. The bulls will be functional, thick-ended, big-boned, deep-ribbed, structurally correct, and are the kind that will add pounds to your bull calves and heifer calves that everyone will desire. The heifers will have the same qualities, but be very feminine and maternal just like their dams.

I was born into a ranching family in the Texas Panhandle. My father, Jiggs Mann, always had an excellent set of Herefords. This herd produced many champion Hereford steers, one Grand and one Reserve Grand at Texas major shows. Hereford cattle have changed some through the years, but my desire to own the right kind has not. My two sons Hadley and Colby developed the same love for good Hereford cattle as I did and they exhibited eight champion Herefords in Texas as well. Therefore it only seemed fitting for us to develop our herd into a seed stock registered herd. The herd has grown to the point that we now believe that we can o er to the rancher, in one setting, cattle that they can take home and be proud of.

Our cattle are raised on native amd improved grass at Clarendon and Lubbock, TX. The past two years have been very trying as we have only recieved 6.5 inches of rain in 2021 and so far this year only about 5 inches. Our cattle are raised without the benefit of natural or artificial shade in the summer or natural or artificial wind breaks in the winter. The climate in Lubbock is very hot in the summers with very little rain and cold winters with occasional snowstorms. The cattle are raised in a almost natural and organic environment without antibiotics or implants. We do use an IGR in our minerals; therefore, we cannot obtain the certified "organic" status. We do administer antibiotics, only as a last resort, when needed. We lease wheat pasture in winter to develop our bulls and heifers. These animals are then transferred to our improved-irrigated grass and then into our grow yard where they are fed a very-high roughage grow ration allowing us to reflect their genetic potential. The cattle are so fun to watch develop in each phase and you will see our cattle are great converters and will maintain their shape when put to work. This year, look for lots 22 and 23 - these two bulls were on grass all summer at Clarendon. We were going to keep them for ourselves, but have now decided to o er them to you. You can compare these individuals to our others that have been our grow yard and only notice a small di erence.

Our cattle are very gentle and are handled with ease in every step using ATVs, a cake wagon, and horses. Whatever your plan is, they should respond very well to any environment. These bulls have an excellent health program as all have been vaccinated four times for IBR, BBD, PI3, BRSVD, 7 Way, and have been wormed most recently two months prior to sale with Safeguard. You can take these bulls home and turn them out.

SALE TERMS

TERMS OF SALE

Cash or Check. Cattle will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer shall settle any disputes as to bids. All cattle are to be paid for by the purchaser during or immediately following the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Each animal will be at purchaser’s risk immediately after it is sold.

HEALTH

The health of the cattle selling is excellent. Each animal will be accompanied by an individual health certificate for immediate interstate shipment. Bulls have been fertility and trichomoniasis tested as of September 2022. Scrotal circumference was recorded. Heifers are guaranteed to be bred and preg checked September 2022. Seller is not liable for bulls and heifers lost due to injury or death.

EPD’S

The EPD’s are listed in the catalog are the most current at the time of catalog printing. Updated EPD’s will be available on sale day.

RETAINED INTEREST

Mann Cattle Co. will retain a 1/2 semen interest on Lots 1 and 4 in the sale unless announced di erently sale day. Mann Cattle Co. reserves the right to collect semen at Mann Cattle’s cost and the buyer’s convenience. The interest retained will not a ect your use or schedule. You will have 100% possession of the bull.

LIABILITY

Animals left at Caldwell Livestock Commission will be at buyer’s risk immediately following the sale. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. Neither the owners, Caldwell Livestock Commission, nor any other persons connected with the sale assume liability, legal or otherwise, for accidents or loss of property.

When this bull hit the ground, I knew he was a great one! This horned chunk of meat has been a fun one to watch mature. He is dark-red, has great eye pigmentation, bone like a cedar post, and is as wide as a gate. This bull’s dam is phenotypically one of the stoutest horned cows on the place with an exceptional bag and udder. This one will really make an impact on your program.

This super stout Sooner Than Later son is definitely one of the most elite bulls raised here at the ranch. Honky = Tonk is one that just combines it all! He is super thick from front to back, has an awesome profile from the side, sound as a cat, and has the performance like he almost gains weight o of air. I think the world of this horned Watonga son. He has got everything you want to see in a great herd bull. Unique is super deep middled, has performance like you would not believe, explosive muscle shape, and travels so darn well it makes him look like he is walking on cloud nine. He is big time, folks!

If you are looking for style, maternal ability, and muscle, here is your bull. Beluga is one that caught our eye early and you can see why. This short marked, smooth, horned bull is just the combination of all things we are looking for to better the industry. Beluga is one of my favorite horned bulls in the sale.

Here is a big, stout Sooner Than Later son that has a lot going for him. Hog is one of the highest performing bulls in the sale with muscle and bone to spare. His dam is one outstanding cow on our place that has not missed a beat. This one is fool proof.

I said this about this bull’s maternal brother in the sale last year and sure enough, this lineage stands up to it. The proof is in the pudding here. The dam of this bull has made an impact on our program like you would not believe. He is red-necked, red-legged, has great eye pigmentation, and has that killer herd bull look. This stylish chunk of meat is, sure enough, a dandy. Albert will do the job, plus some!

Here is a super stout, boxy beef bull that will sure do the job right. He is super-thick ended with loads of muscle running down his top and has that look that will drive the neighbors nuts. This rascal is out of one exceptional female that has proven herself time and time again. Voodoo has a bright future ahead of him, for sure.

Here is a polled bull that has a presence like no other. This dark-cherry red beef bull is one that combines it all. He is big square hipped, tons of muscle expression, huge topped, deep middled, and by gosh can move. I love the neck and shoulder structure on this bull. He is a female maker, for sure and his bull calves will mash down the scales.

This horned bull ought to get your attention on sale day. War Chief is super-square made from his top to his pin set. He is big-boned, extremely sound on the move, has great muscle expression, and has that complete herd bull look. Turn this one out and forget about him. He will sire you some big, fancy calves that will attract any stocker buyer’s eye.

Thank You FOR OUR 2021 SALE

The last three years have been such a humbling experience. Like most ranchers, having your first few of sales are extremely stressful and exciting. Going into this, Dad and I had a smaller customer base and we were nervous about coming to South Texas to have our first big sale. I always knew there was a high demand for good Hereford cattle in the area and was hoping that we could move into the market.

I am extremely fortunate to say last year’s sale went better than we could have ever expected. We had an amazing opportunity to meet fellow ranchers, go through each pen, and talk about cattle. If anyone knows me well, you know it’s hard to get away when I start talking good stock with good stockman. It has been such a blessing to have a fourth sale due to the success of the first three.

With that being said, we would like to say thank you to all of the buyers that bought cattle or attended the 2021 bull sale. You will never know how thankful and honored we feel to be able to follow our passion and sell quality animals to quality people.

We hope this is an event we get to enjoy for many years to come and eventually pass down to the next generation.
