Welcome to the Sale
Welcome to the 15th Annual SimAngus Solution Sale. It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by but, here we are and sale time is here again. First, we would like to say Thank You to all of our customers! 2023 has been a rewarding year to be in the cattle industry with the continued lower cattle numbers, quality cattle have been in high demand and have been more profitable this year. A lot has changed in the cattle industry since we made the decision to have our first sale fifteen years ago, but the demand for SimAngus influenced feeder cattle with a known genetic base has only increased and will continue to be in high demand. With the rising input cost in each aspect of the industry, we all must strive to produce cattle that perform and rebreed with minimal input to produce a desirable product for the next step in the industry. Our commitment to you, our customer is to provide you with high quality breeding pieces that can perform and be profitable in the real world! We strive to select genetics to use in our herd that perform in the real world of the southeast in order to pass those same genetics on to you. We are excited about sharing this year’s offering with you. You will see some new sires in this year’s offering and several more of the bulls that logoed through the Right Choice testing.
Again, this year, each animal selling has genomic enhanced EPDs and have been parent verified through DNA. As we continue to look for ways to add value to our cattle and give our customers every available tool possible to make a confident decision in their purchase, this year you will see again that we have had Right Choice testing performed on each of the bulls. You will find more information on Right Choice as you go through the catalog and see logos by the bulls that have qualified for Right Choice. We believe that by using the Right Choice system we are taking the guess work and the margin of error out of the equation, making everyone more profitable and more confident in their selections. All bulls are ready to go out and work; they have passed a Breeding Soundness Exam (BSE) and have been vaccinated with Titanium 5, Ultrabac-7/Somubac, and Piliguard Pinkeye One. Bulls have been dewormed on a regular basis with the highest quality dewormers. All vaccines and dewormers have been administered per Beef Quality Assurance guidelines.
This years group has been one of the slickest haired groups that we have developed. We continued to focus on cattle that will shed and not carry that heavy haircoat into the summer months. We have made every effort we can to select cattle that will perform here in the heat of the Southeast as well as on fescue. Because we want these bulls to go out and work for you as well as their mothers have worked for us, we focus on making the bulls utilize forage for their main dietary input. The bulls have been developed on fescue pastures, fescue hay, and a customized high fiber, low energy, feed ration.
As in years past we will be offering registered SimAngus heifers. This year each of the heifers also have genomic enhanced EPDs and have also been parent verified through DNA. These heifers carry the same vaccination protocol as the bulls. Females have been developed on fescue pastures, fescue hay, and supplemented with the same feed ration as the bulls. All females are open and ready to breed to the bull of your choice.
Your interest in our bulls and females is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you on November 4th!
Retained Semen Revenue Interest
SimAngus Solution retains 1/3 semen interest in each bull selling. On every bull, you are purchasing full possession, full salvage value, full decision making, and 2/3 semen revenue interest. The SimAngus Solution retained interest only comes into play if semen is marketed on a bull.

Sophisticated Selection Technology
that is Simple to Use
RightChoice and RightMate Powered by Top Genomics
Genetic providers have used strong genetic prediction tools (EPDs) for making, then offering customers consistent genetic progress for a long time. In the past few years, improved EPDs, bolstered by the inclusion of genomic evaluation have been a bigger step forward, making the potential for progress even greater. Now there is RightChoice, a proven, technology driven program that simply provides for more rapid improvement and potential for success from your investment. The best news is, RightChoice technology is much simpler to use than past tools and just might change the way we buy genetics.
In the past, with 20 or more EPD categories, overwhelming amounts of raw data and multiple index offerings to evaluate in a short time the potential to use selection information to its best result has been possible but difficult. RightChoice is designed as a simple to use sorting tool for commercial producers in the selection of new sires or females all based on customer genetic needs and production goals. The sophisticated technology is on the inside of RightChoice, combining advanced knowledge of high impact genomics with the proven database power of EPDs. All you need to do is evaluate and pick the bulls you like from the group with the genetic logo that fits your needs.
Defining your bull needs and projected purpose is the first step. Do I plan to keep daughters as replacements, will the bull need to breed heifers, how much growth and carcass do I need to meet my short-term financial goals? Producers should and do ask themselves these questions with any seedstock purchase. RightChoice then sorts the bulls that will fit the job they are asked to do more simply than any other technology. For heifer bulls, just find the ACE logo bulls and then select the ones you like. When maternal progress is the primary goal, look for a G+. Want to promote maximum growth and pay-weight, ATM bulls will drive income forward as soon as next year’s calf crop. The bottom line is that with a simple sort that includes both specific genomic combinations and EPD thresholds to help assure value, you can be more confident in the potential to achieve goals. After the boxes are checked, simply pick the bulls you’d like to take home with the logos that fit your operational needs.
RightChoice technology will not only push the traits and profit forward that you ask it to, but because of the way it sorts sires, it can reduce variation and inconsistency in your calf crop as well. For example, with ACE logo bulls, not only can you expect reduced dystocia, but the birth weights responsible for most of the challenges will be less variable. That means more calves born close to the average weight and far fewer extreme calves that either create issues for your heifers or are unreasonably small. We can’t always control the genes present in the cow herd, but we can make sure that you don’t get problem genes from your seedstock purchase.
We are asked frequently, are 2 logos better than 1? It is a logical thought for sure, but in this case the answer is a solid maybe not, depending on breeding objectives. G+ logos are assigned to bulls with the most balanced trait improvement potential and prioritize maternal traits like longevity and fertility. Add an ACE logo and expect similar improvements with accredited calving ease, but weaning growth may not be enhanced. When an ATM logo accompanies the G+, advanced growth will come along with daughters that offer solid fertility. The trade-off is ATMs are not for heifers and mature cow size may increase, which may or may not fit your needs? ATM logo alone means breed no heifers. Daughters should grow very fast, but may not have as much longevity as replacements. Again, with some simple planning based on production needs and goals, the technology behind the RightMate logos will point you in the direction you want to go, simply.
RightMate and RightChoice…Better, Stronger, Faster.
SimAngus Bulls
1MF/CMC HERDBOOK MK20
When starting the process of picking the sire group to lead this years sale off, the Lot 1 CLRS Herdbook son really helped make this decision a bit easier. This bull checks a lot of boxes for us. He carries a touch bit more frame, has loads of middle, natural thickness and put together just about as smooth as you can make one. Very free moving and eye appealing potential herdsire. Combine all of those things with him ranking in the top 10%25% of the breed for 11 traits you understand why he starts this years catalog. He also goes back to the Maebelle cow family that has been so productive for us, not to mention he earned the G+ logo on the Right Choice testing. Sure to be a crowd favorite.
CMC HERDBOOK MK22
The Lot 2 Herdbook son is another standout in the group, another slightly larger framed, deep sided, thick made type of bull. Another bull that has been a bit of a standout since birth, not sure if the little white on his face is the reason or not, but it sure doesn’t hurt. This has been the little guy’s pick of the bulls all year. Big growth bull, ranking in the top 10% of the breed for his WW and YW EPDs along with a top 3% for REA. If you’re looking for a bull that will put some pounds on your feeder calves, here is one to help you get that done.
CMC HERDBOOK MK32
The Lot 3 bull maybe the most massive and thickest of all of the Herdbook sons. This bull is as deep sided and thick made as any bull we have raised. You want another one that will add some pounds to your calf crop, here’s one that will sure do that. He ranks in the top 3% for WW and 10% for YW. Add some carcass value to him with top 10% - 25% in CW, Marbling, Back Fat, and REA, not to mention 10% TI. One we would recommend to use on mature cows but a bull to add the weight to your calf crop. Lot 3 also carries the G+ and ATM logos.
SIMANGUS SOLUTION SimAngus Bulls
CMC HERDBOOK MK49
Lot 4 will wrap up the Herdbook sire group for this year. Marty sure hit the nail on the head when he recommended Herdbook to us. Another stout made long bodied bull with a little lighter BW EPD and plenty of spread from there to WW and YW. Ranks top 15% for API and 25% for TI. Another G+ scoring bull that will add a solid genetic base to your calf crop.
CMC POUNDER MK19
The CCR Pounder sons follow the Herdbooks closely in there type and kind. The lot 5 bull has been a standout since he was very young. A bull with a tremendous amount of growth too him. Another bull that ranks in the top 10% for WW and 5% for YW. Even with the amount of growth that this bull has he ranks in the top 3% for MM, that’s not something that happens very often. ATM qualified bull.
CMC POUNDER MK35
6
Lot 6 is another larger framed smooth made type of bull with some added eye appeal. Lot 6 is a 3/4 Angus 1/4 Simmental bull for some that would like to add a touch bit more Angus to their calf crop, ranking up some big growth numbers ranking in the top 15% for WW and YW. Another G+ ranking bull.
MF POUNDER M44K
7
Lot 7 is another long bodied stout made bull, this one Carrie’s a touch less BW but still has plenty of growth to give those calves the extra punch they need to get the job done by weaning time. He also gains some maternal value back from his Royal Flush dam that has done a tremendous job for us. Another bull that gets the G+ logo.
MF/CMC POUNDER MK48
SIMANGUS SOLUTION SimAngus Bulls
MF POUNDER M27K
Lot 8 is surely the big growth number bull of the Pounder sons. He has a touch more BW weight but he ranks in the top 3% for WW and top 1 % for YW and ADG. Here is one that will surely add the pounds to a calf crop when its time to put them on the scales. His Dual Focus x Maebelle
dam sure gave us another good one to offer this year. G+ and ATM qualified bull.
The final Pounder son is a lighter BW bull but still carries a lot of growth. Ranks in the top 15% for BW, but that lighter BW doesn’t slow him down because he still carries it on to a top 15% for WW and top 20% for YW. Another G+ qualified bull.
MF WACO M45K
Lot 10 is our pick to lead off the CCR Waco sired bulls. Following the pattern of the bulls ahead of him he is another long bodied, big middled bull with a little added frame that will catch your eye on sale day. Another bull that ranks in the top 20% for WW and YW. Add all of this to a G+ logo this will be another crowd favorite.

MF COMMANDER M24K
Our next Commander son is slightly larger in frame than his brother just ahead of him. These Commander bulls have a lot of genetic merit to add to the calves that they sire. Another G+ bull.
MF FLAT IRON M8K
