Production Sale Welcome to the Advantage Breeders Sheep Sale!

Advantage Breeders is a northern Alberta youth inspired production sale with our youth coming from farms of Suffolk, North Country Cheviot, Dorset and commercial breeding stock. Each farm offers different avenues of exceptional genetics. Consignors: CARPATHIAN LAND & LIVESTOCK (Andrew, Erin, Kyle, Emily, Ethan and Kurt Yaremko) Our kids are very engaged in the 4‐H program and have been developing and growing their own herds and flocks alongside our commercial livestock over the years with purebred Simmental, Angus, and Maine‐Anjou cattle and Dorset sheep with a few purebred Hampshire’s being added in last year. The flock consists of about 150 Dorset based ewes, mixing in some Romanov and Hampshire in the commercial ewes. Everyone works hard here including the livestock; there are no free rides. We rarely do second chances and cull hard. We have high expectations based on production, fertility, prolificacy, and mothering. Our flock is on a full health vaccination program. With our lambing season starting mid‐December to late January these Dorset ram lambs will be ready to breed this fall, they are already getting rambunctious! We look forward to sharing with you more about our operation and our sheep and learning about yours. WD5 Suffolk & North Country Cheviot (Heine, Penny, Michaela, Kaelam, Maranda & Mia Westergaard) WD5 Suffolk & North Country Cheviot offers strong genetics in purebred Suffolk and North Country Cheviot as well as commercial Suffolk/North Country Cheviot cross lambs each year. WD5 started off as a Suffolk specific operation carrying genetics from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. After developing the genetics standards of our Suffolk flock, we sought after, North Country Cheviots were added to our farm by the youngest Westergaard. In 2017 using money from previous 4‐H project sales Mia purchased her first North Country Cheviot ewe from the All Canada Sheep Classic. With Mia's love for this breed and the numerous contacts she has made through her sheep ventures she has grown her breeding program exponentially acquiring some amazing genetics from breeders in Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, Ontario and Nova Scotia. Visit our website and Facebook page to explore our farm and what we have to offer! Sheep Lake Suffolk (Mike, Vanessa, Kate & Emma Grimmeyer) We are located east of Clyde, Alberta in the Bridge lakes area of the sandhills. We started our venture in 1997 with 12 commercial sheep, mainly Polypay and Suffolk. Over the years we con nued to build our commercial flock with an influence of Dorset and Suffolk. We always preferred our Suffolk influence though. In 2004 we purchased our first registered Suffolk Ewes and Rams, and we have not looked back since. Our registered Suffolk herd now consists of a Bri sh influence, which gives us the hardiness, docility, and feed efficiency that we have been striving to achieve. Our mo o is “as we improve, we’ll pass it on”. Our Daughters Kate & Emma enjoy showing sheep throughout western Canada and have been an amazing asset to the farm. We look forward to mee ng new customers and reconnec ng with ones of the past. Cannan Farms (Dylan Cannan) Cannan Farms is a large family farm located south of Innisfree Alberta with family members of all ages lending a hand in its daily operation. When not attending high school Dylan can be found working around the farm helping with the daily operations, tending to multiple species of livestock and crops. He is an avid senior 4‐H member with the Innisfree‐Minburn 4‐H Beef Club and the Vermilion 4‐H Sheep Club. Dylan runs and maintains his own purebred Suffolk and Commercial flocks as well as a Commercial goat herd. Dylan's flock carries multiple blood lines enabling his lambs to match well with any flock looking to expand or introduce new lines.
