Hello fellow cattlemen and cattlewomen. Welcome to my 19th annual bull sale. Bull sale time has to be the most wonderful time of the year. Right after calving season. This is a real good group of bulls this year. All the bulls are non dilutors. The bulls are on total herd health. Vitamin AD and Selon-E at birth. Bovi shield gold and Ultrabac 7 at branding. At weaning Bovi shield gold and ultrabac 7 And ivomec. Bulls have access to a cattle oiler. A special thank you to my loyal customers and bidders on my cattle. It’s good to hear how they worked and how the calves grow. It makes this business rewarding. It’s nice to see my tattoo doing some good things. CANADIAN SIMMENTAL ASSOCIATION BREED AVERAGE

CALVING EASE: The ease with which a bull’s calves are born to first calf heifers. A first calf heifer is defined as a female calving for the first time at 33 months of age or less. EPDs are reported as the standardized rank of the animal in the Canadian Simmental population. When comparing calving ease EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a higher percent of unassisted births for calves sired by this bull.

BIRTH WEIGHT: Calf weight at birth adjusted to a mature dam equivalent. Expected progeny performance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average birth weight of a bull’s calves, compared to calves of all other bulls evaluated. When comparing the birth weight EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a heavier average birth weight for calves sired by this bull.

WEANING WEIGHT: Calf weight taken between 160 and 250 days of age and adjusted to 205 days of age and a mature dam equivalent. Expected progeny performance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average 205 day weight of an animal’s calves compared to calves of all other animals evaluated. When comparing the weaning weight EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a heavier average weaning weight for calves sired by this bull.

YEARLING WEIGHT: Weight taken between 330 and 440 days of age and adjusted to 365 days of age and a mature dam equivalent. Expected progeny performance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average 365 day weight or an animal’s progeny, compared to the progeny of all animals evaluated. When comparing the weaning weight EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a heavier average yearling weight for calves sired by this bull.

MATERNAL CALVING EASE: The ease with which a sire’s daughters calve as first calf heifers. A first calf heifer is defined as a female calving for the first time at 33 months of age or less. Expected progeny differences are reported as the standardized rank of the animal in the Canadian Simmental population. When comparing the maternal calving ease EPDs of two sires, the larger EPD indicates a higher percentage of unassisted births for calves born to this sire’s daughters.

MATERNAL WEANING WEIGHT: The weaning weight of an animal’s daughters’ calves. Expected progeny performance is reported in pounds. The EPD value predicts the difference in average 205 day weight of an animal’s daughters’ calves compared to calves from daughters of all other animals evaluated. The evaluated reflects both the maternal ability of an animal’s daughters and the growth potential of their calves. When comparing maternal weaning weight EPDs of two sires, the larger maternal weaning weight EPD indicates heavier weights due to daughters’ ability to producer heavier calves.

Purchase a bull from any Saskatchewan member, and when the registration papers are transferred, your name is entered to win a $2000 sale credit. The draw will be made at the SSA’s annual general meeting in July and the lucky winner will have one year to use the credit at any public or private sales on bulls or females purchased from any SSA member.

TERMS: The terms of sale are cash or cheque. All cattle must be settled for at the conclusion of the auction. Cattle will not be released from the sale premises until payment is received in full, unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale with the individual contributor. Every animal sells to the highest bidder, in the case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final, and becomes the risk of the purchaser. We reserve the right to withhold animals from shipment for whom payments have not been received prior to departure times.

BUYERS REGISTRATION: Buyers please register for a buyer number at the office prior to purchasing.

BREEDING GUARANTEE: All bulls are guaranteed to be fertile and reproductively sound in accordance with the rules and regulations recommended by the breed associations. All bulls will be semen tested.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors in this catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the block at sale time and such announcements will take precedent over any printed material. Any disputes will be settled by the auctioneer.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken, all persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. The owners, management, the sales staff assume no liability, legal, or otherwise for any reason.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: A certificate of registration duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer by the breeder for each registered animal after complete and full payment has been made.

INSURANCE: Bulls who go back to the seller’s farm must be insured by the buyer, insurance agents will be in attendance.

104J is a twin to 105J. Their mom has been a very good cow. All her daughters are here. She has a son working for Jay Robb and Ross Harmel. 104J could go work in a pure bred or commercial herd. They are a very good pair of bulls. If I did not use their sire for 9 years, I would have kept one of the pair. Not leftovers. Someone will get a good producer here.

RUK 105J is a twin to RUK 104J. You have to admire this pair of bulls. Color, haircoats, good feet, performance, awesome dam. Awesome sire. good pedigrees. Everyone that has seen them really likes them. They are maybe too quiet. As calves it’s all fun and games to rub on your leg. As yearlings and 2 year olds not so much. Keep all his daughters.
