November 23-25, 2023 WELCOME TO THE 2023 CANADIAN WESTERN AGRIBITION SSBA SHOW & SALE . K S , a n i g Re https://sasksheepbreeders.com/
The Saskatchewan Sheep Breeders' Association was established in 1909 by a group of sheep producers who wanted to improve the sheep industry in Saskatchewan. This group knew that by working together, they could promote the sheep industry, deal with significant issues & support each other in raising high-quality breeding sheep. Today, the SSBA has members from all over the province, and other provinces, producing purebred and commercial sheep. There are breeders of 17 different purebred breeds and several crosses. 2022 is the Agribitions 51st year. CWA is where the world meets, and the SSBA is proud to be a part of it. We want to take this time to thank everyone who contributed to the 2022 Agribition to make this event successful! LOT 36/SHOW #418 PRAIRIE SANCTUARY Pen of 2 Ewe Lambs Pen of 2: These ewe lambs are from commercial Rideau/Dorset cross ewes and Ill De France/Rideau ram. 23-6D and 23-6E are triplet sisters (the other one was a boy), they were born May 4th, and their mom raised all three of them on pasture. They look so much alike, and I know they will be an asset in any flock.
LOT 37/SHOW #419 PRAIRIE SANCTUARY Pen of 2 Ewe Lambs
Two ewe lambs from commercial Suffolk type ewe and Ill De France ram. (Their mom is more woolly and has no brown in her). S23-17A and S23-17B are twin sisters. They look a bit different and 17B is a bit smaller than her sister, but they have always caught my eye, and I also picked them for myself. They weaned 105 and 90 pounds when they were about 3 1/2 months old, raised on pasture. They were born on May 3rd.
LOT 38/SHOW #420 PRAIRIE SANCTUARY Pen of 2 Ewe Lambs Pen of 2 ewe lambs from purebred Rideau ewes and Ill de France/Rideau rams. (Their mothers were bought at purebred shows years ago). 23-12 A was born April 28th and one of a triplet. She was bottleraised because one of her mom's teats became spoiled. Her mom's name was Linda. Linda produced a set of twins on Dec 25th, 2021, a set of triplets on Jul 9th, 2022 and a set of triplets on April 28th, 2023 - eight lambs in 2 years! I have kept 23-12A's brother as a future commercial ram. You will not make a mistake buying her. 23-11C was also bottle-raised part of the time; she is one of a twin. She was born on May 7th. Her mom developed mastitis in one quarter. She comes from one of the top ewes in my flock and I have kept her brother as well, to become a future ram for my commercial flock.
LOT 39/SHOW #416 BIG ROSE FARMS Pen of 2 Ewe Lambs
LOT 40/SHOW #408 HAALAND LIVESTOCK Pen of 3 Ewe Lambs Our entry in the pen of 3 class is a real uniform group of Suffolk girls. Out of Rocking S Ryan 6H, and Suffolk/Dorset cross ewes, they are deep-bodied and soggy on a wide base.
LOT 41/SHOW #409 COOL ALLY LIVESTOCK April, 2023 * Pen of 3 Ewe Lambs Breed: Ile de France X
Pen of 3. April born ewe lambs sired by our Ile De France rams and out of Ile De France influence ewes. Vaccinated with Glanvac. Not exposed.
LOT 42/SHOW #410 PRAIRIE SANCTUARY Pen of 3 Ewe Lambs
Pen of 3. These ewe lambs are from commercial Rideau/Dorset cross ewes with Ill De France/Rideau ram. They were born on April 28th and 29th. 23-2A and 23-2B are triplet sisters from the top ewe in my flock. Their mom has weaned the heaviest lambs for the third year in a row. 23-7A is a single lamb from a first-time ewe I bred as well, coming from excellent lines. Her grandma is still in the flock.
LOT 43/SHOW #407 PRAIRIE SANCTUARY Pen of 5 Ewe Lambs
Pen of 5 commercial ewe lambs born after May 1st. They are from Suffolk type ewes and an Ill De France ram. These ewe lambs were my personal pick to keep, but I am down sizing, I know they will be an asset in any flock.
