WELCOME WELCOME to our fourth XTC Ranches sale at our Eastend SK location. We have been in the Hereford business for over 50 years and this will be our 39th production sale in that time. We added the red angus to our program about 7 years ago and feel that we are finally getting our stamp on the red herd. Many great friendships and wonderful sale partnerships have led us to this point. As you can see, we are in this cattle business for the long haul! 2020/21 has been an interesting year to say the least. Sometimes I do feel fortunate to live where we do during these uncertain times. We are proud of this offering of bulls. We believe as our numbers grow, so does our qualilty. We stand behind these bulls 100%, so make sure we are the first to hear if there is an issue. We appreciate all the support from customers we have had the pleasure to deal with over the years. TERMS: Terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at the sale location. Credit arrangements may be made with individual contributors prior to sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers not in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP: Proper instructions must be provided at the conclusion of the sale. Extensions granted on order bids only. Costs incurred due to incorrect transfer will be born by the purchaser. Ownership will not be transferred until full settlement has been made. GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Hereford Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The owners, their employees, sales staff and representatives, and facility owner assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. HEALTH: All sale cattle are on the Complete Herd Health Program and will be Ivermectin prior to sale day. DELIVERY: BULLS: We will deliver free within a 300 mile radius on single purchases over $4000. Every assistance will be given in the arranging of shipping and delivery of your purchases. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. All U.S. purchases will be delivered to our closest border crossing unless other arrangements are made with the consignors. WINTERING PROGRAM: Charge of wintering bulls will be at cost, and will be announced at the sale. INSURANCE: We strongly recommend that insurance is purchased for full value. XTC Ranches strives to raise ranch ready cattle with a focus on feet and fleshing ability. We require easy doing cattle here in Eastend, and want to provide our customers with the same low maintenance type of cattle. We believe that when we sell bulls to the commercial rancher, the bull will adapt to any environment they are put in. Our cows are raised on primarily native grass year round, and we try to winter graze all of the cows as far into winter that mother nature allows us to do. Our cows calve out on their own in large fields with the protection of the natural topography. Therefore, we allow our environment to be one of our best selection tools. The bulls spend the summer on grass while being developed with oats/barley for the sale in February. From short marked goggle eyes to yellow feathernecks we feel there is a bull here for everyone.

As good of a bull that has been raised here. Props to Donnie for this mating. Duke is the full package. We really admire this guy as did many visitors when they saw him at his mothers side last summer. We felt like we needed to offer him to our customer base, but we had to use him this summer as a yearling. We are sure glad we did. 50G has awesome feet and a tremendous hair coat. He is as long as you can make em. He moves like a cat. His mom is one of those cows that you’re beyond proud to own. Always in good shape, nice tidy udder, good disposition and raises a great one every year. Her daughter, pictured above, will be a foundation front end cow for us for many years to come. 50G’s maternal brother, 81E, is being used at the Gillespie Hereford Ranch. Have a look!! Potentially my favourite 14E son. We used 83G on our purebred hereford heifers this summer. I really like this pedigree. 38Y, 14E and 8B all throw moderate birthweights so we felt comfortable giving him a try. This guy bred for 50 plus days and was still our “fattest” bull all fall. He is an extremely easy doing bull like his maternal brother 139F that sold to the McNabb Ranch in last years sale. This guy has all the tools to be a really solid herd bull.

We would like to welcome everyone to our sale. Thank you to past buyers and bidders. These bulls are not left overs, we specifically kept the calves that were born March 15 and later for this sale. All bulls are weighed at birth on a digital vet scale. The bulls have been vaccinated with Vista Once and Tasvax 8 at branding and weaning. In November, they were given Ivomec and before the sale they will be semen tested and given Express 3VL5. Our goal is to provide a strong selection of cattle for our customers and help them find a bull that will work for their program. We strictly cull our cattle for feet, udders and disposition. Welcome everyone to the sale, we are honored to be apart of this great sale again and have brought a few more bulls this year. We are extremely excited to offer this set of bulls to you from the heart of our bull pen. We believe there is a bull for everyone in our offering from calving ease, to performance bulls, as well as full and maternal brothers for guys looking to put together a consistent set of bulls. We have been working hard over the last few years sourcing what we feel are some of the best sires and donors from across Canada and the USA. We have been doing an extensive AI and embryo program the last couple years, in 2019 and 2020 we implanted over 200 embryos to better our program so that we are able to offer our customers better and more consistent bulls. Skull Creek Roosevelt 21G is arguably the best bull we have raised to date. A very complete, smooth made, deep bodied bull that strides out with ease. His donor dam is one of our newest up and coming donors that will be an anchor in our program going forward. She raised the heaviest weaning weight heifer in our program last year as a two year old cow, and 21G lead the group in 2019. We have a full sister to 21G that has been a favourite by many.

Another good President son, our SAV President calves have been very consistent from day one. They are docile, good footed cattle that perform. His dam is a cow that we have flushed the past two years, and a large group of full brothers will be offered next year. We used this bull to clean up a set of cows after we had a bull injury so should have a few calves come spring.

Skull Creek Bitcoin 55G is the first son to sell from the lead off SAV Cutting Edge son, which we purchased from the 2018 SAV sale, SAV Currency 7235. He is a stout, hairy, smooth made bull that has the look of a her bull. This bull is one of my favourite bulls in the offering this year, going back to the great Boss 679 donor that is still in production at age 15. She was our selection from the Boss Cattle production sale down in Nebraska a few years back and we are sure glad we made that decision.
