Flyer Assignment Instructions

1. Create new 8.5 x 11 “wide” doc. with .5 margins throughout.

2. Create four columns with .25 gutter.

3. Draw box 11.15 x 2.45 and fill with 45% black for masthead (it bleeds off top and both sides) 4. Add NOW IS THE TIME bold, reverse, Helvetica, 86/92, track to -.80 align left, center block vertically in box.

5. Place stopwatch clip (in week 6 Moodle) art and size to aprox. 1.8 x 2 inches.

6. Add eadline (M.A.…) and set style to Myriad Pro Condensed Bold, 28/27, all caps, align left.

7. Add subhead (at the University) and set Subhead Style to Myriad Pro Regular, 20/22, small caps, align left.

8. Type copy and set Body Text style to Myriad Pro Regular, 11/16, no tab, align left.

9. Copy and paste and place into three columns.

10. Type in Subheads 1 (Flexibility, Internships, Location, Career Opportunities) Myriad Pro Bold, 11/21, align left.

11. Align columns at top and bottom. Use pull-down rulers or paragraph alignment tools.

12. Draw box (2.3 x 4.2) in fourth column, line-black, stroke-dash, no fill.

13. Type copy into fourth column and set Caption style to Myriad Pro Regular, 10/12, centered text.

14. Create U of D SOC logo. Draw three separate graphics and overlap to create “logo”

16. Add university name (hint: these are three separate type blocks, stacked and all are centered) 17. University of—Helvetica, bold, 9/13.5, center, tracking +100 18. Denver—Helvetica, bold, 20/22, center, 60% black 19. SOC—Helvetica, 6/13.5, center, all caps, track to -40 kerning 20. Save as (your last name) Flyer Assignment and submit to Moodle dropbox.
