“Let
us travel as pilgrims of hope towards the Holy Year As we rediscover our vocation and share the various gifts of the Spirit, may we bear witness to Jesus’ dream: that we may be a single family, united in the love of God.” - Pope Francis
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Families:
As our 148th year in Sacramento comes to a close, Pope Francis’ recent message resonates deeply for me I hold such deep affection for this incredible Lasallian Catholic vocation and treasure being a part of this wonderful community of students, educators, alumni, families, and friends. I love the symbolism of traveling together as pilgrims of hope... that we may be a single family united in the love of God.
Christian Brothers High School is a special place It is incredible that what began so humbly more than 300 years ago in France, continues today in 80 countries, educating approximately 1 million students In Sacramento, we are profoundly blessed to be flourishing as the area’s largest, most diverse, and longest-thriving Catholic high school.
I do not believe that is an accident. Two weeks ago in Mass, Father’s homily focused on the role of a shepherd and even related it to leadership He touched on how the shepherd had to be prepared to set the destination by leading in the front, establishing relationships of trust from within, all the while ensuring that no members of the flock are left behind While listening, I could not help but think of the Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, who set our destination of quality education, rooted in faith, and anchored by our values of inclusivity, respect, and concern for the poor. I think of the many educators whose dedicated work has touched the hearts and minds of the students entrusted to our care. Thanks to their efforts, we can meet students where they are as learners, ranging from Honors and AP courses to our Academic Resource Center where students receive additional support and scaffolding I reflected on the wonderful work of our Lasallian Student Life Office whose efforts bring our spiritual and cocurricular activities to life to ensure that we are meeting our students where they are as people. Collectively, they provide students with a multitude of opportunities to grow in faith while finding and fostering their God-given gifts. So many shepherds tending to our flock.
Lasallian Catholic education is truly an incredible vocation, and I am profoundly blessed to serve the Christian Brothers High School community This Lasallian Catholic family of students, parents, educators, alumni, and friends truly give me hope for all that is possible in this world when we are united in the love of God and share the gifts of His Spirit. Thank you for your partnership in this journey and entrusting us with the sacred responsibility of preparing your sons and daughters for success in college and life.

Parent Volunteering
What makes CB activities and events amazing? The fact that our parent volunteers are true volunteers. They are not required to be present to fulfill a set number of hours. They are present because serving is what they do and generous is who they are. CB volunteers lead by example in the Lasallian spirit and truly enjoy being a part of the CB community.
There are many opportunities available to volunteer, whether it is serving in an administrative role, handing out cookies, or taking tickets at an event. Volunteering is also a terrific way to meet new friends or connect with current ones. If you are not yet a volunteer, you can find out more at https://www.cbhs-sacramento.org/volunteerism/.
