FALCON FAMILY NEWS
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Families:
Trusting in God’s divine providence is a hallmark of the life of St. John Baptist de la Salle. More that 300 years later, Lasallians are still encouraged to find hope, and to fully trust, in God’s divine providence for each of us. This foundation and trust in the divine providence of God has called me to serve the Christian Brothers community, and I am beyond grateful for the invitation, and for the warm welcome I have received. I eagerly await the opening of the 2023-2024 school year so that I can meet all of you, and the wonderful students you have entrusted to our care
For our returning families, thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the work that we do each day For our firsttime families, welcome to your new home We are grateful for your trust and the blessing of partnership in the education of your student As a parent of a recent graduate, and with a current senior and a current sophomore, my wife and I are beyond grateful for the education that our children have received We have found the CB family to be very welcoming, and we know that every adult on campus cares deeply about the work that they do and the students they are called to serve It is an honor to join them in this sacred work.
I am thrilled to introduce new members of the academic leadership team. These committed Lasallian educators will partner with our faculty and staff to ensure that our community has the support and resources necessary to live out our Lasallian Core Principals: Faith in the Presence of God, Respect for all persons, Inclusive Community, Quality Education and Concern for the Poor and Social Justice. Please join me in welcoming longtime CB educators Ms Anna Fernandez and Dr Bill Iliff ’76, who will both be serving as Assistant Principals for Student Life and Instruction New to our community this year are Mr D J Bowen III, our Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, joined by Ms Marlena Norman and Mr Ramon Trejo, our Deans of Students
I truly believe the success of Catholic education is always grounded in relationship and we are stronger when we are all working together As I write this, I am reminded of an old analogy that compared Catholic education to a three-legged stool Parents, students, and faculty/staff make up the three legs If we are committed to working together, the stool will be steady and supportive, however, if one leg is missing, or not committed, the stool will fall On behalf of the faculty, staff, and our new administrative team, please know that we are fully dedicated to upholding our commitment to your sons and daughters
We look forward to forging genuine relationships, working together and by association, to ensure that our students have a steady and supportive foundation upon which to build as they prepare for success in college and life.
Live Jesus in our Hearts, forever!
Dave Perry, Ed D Principal
