Brenna and Ryan both scored the winning touchdown with each other after meeting back in 2016. The two were at their favorite bar in Baltimore, Maryland, watching Sunday football with friends, when Ryan walked right up to Brenna and introduced himself. The conversation was natural, and before they knew it, Ryan was walking Brenna home. The rest was history!
Brenna absolutely loves Christmas, and the couple had plans of going to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree. Brenna had previously told Ryan she didn’t want a grand public proposal, so Ryan decided to find a quiet side street that still had a view of the tree. It was there Ryan got down on one knee (in a muddy puddle) and proposed to Brenna, making the holiday season that much more magical.
Dazzling Diamond: Brenna’s engagement ring is an heirloom that belonged to Ryan’s grandmother. Originally, the center stone was a ruby, but Ryan replaced it with an oval diamond. “I love that there’s history behind the ring, while Ryan also got to add his own special touch,” Brenna shared.
An Intimate Affair: Due to Covid, Brenna and Ryan only had 27 of their closest friends and family present. “Having such a small, intimate wedding really took the pressure off of us as we didn’t feel the need for everything to be absolutely perfect. We knew the people that were attending were there because they love us.”
Behind the Lens: Natural photography that was light and airy was the exact style the couple sought in a wedding photographer. Kiamarie of KSS Photography was the perfect fit! “She makes you feel so comfortable and at ease,” the bride mentioned. Pictures were taken in front of the church and throughout Brenna’s parents’ home.
Gown Decisions: Since the couple still plan on having their larger reception in the future, the bride chose not to wear her original wedding gown. Instead, she wore the dress she picked out for the rehearsal dinner. The form-fitted white dress featured a sweetheart neckline with off-the-shoulder cap-sleeve, and a fun, yet flirty ruffle detailing. Brenna accessorized with simple stud earrings and carried a bouquet made of white roses, blue hydrangea, baby’s breath, and eucalyptus.
The Decor: Topping the tables under the backyard tent were low arrangements made of all white florals with a touch of green. Along with rose petals were framed table numbers listing the guest names underneath. Gold Chiavari chairs and white linens completed the tablescape look, and strung lights suspended across the patio created romantic lighting.
A Personal Touch: In addition to crab cakes for dinner, guests were treated to specialty signature drinks. The bride picked a grapefruit martini, while the groom selected a Moscow mule for his drink of choice.
