We also had a lot happening from the Treyvon Martin Case in the US to the Russian President making Homosexuality against the law. People have been having to learn to defend themselves and there is an excellent interview with Obi Oberdier and his weekly class about self defense that happens every Saturday, rain, snow or whatever... I had to ask myself, am I really prepared for an attack? In all cases I would have to be honest with myself and say no. What about you? Read his article and get to know him! The classes he teaches are free AND you may just learn a thing or two if in case you ever find yourself in a situation that you can’t get out from right away. Love and Kisses!!!!!

ASK XXANDAR What is it about friends, are they suppose to be there for you know matter what? how do you find out who is a friend, best friend or the true friend. Friends can come and go, come back for a short time and leave again. A best friend is someone that will be there for the good times and maybe stay for a rocky road and say they are there but that is just usually said. A true friend is someone that you do for and they in return, they are there for the good and bad times and expect that there will be and stay, help and hold your hand to help you get through it because they know you will do the same for them. Even if they are next door or across the globe, you can count on them. What kind of friend are you? I watch on Facebook amongst my friends/ acquaintances who complain and talk down about their friends that bailed on them for a night out, to help move etc... But maybe their friends had a good reason and you just want to bitch about it on FB for sympathy reasons, or they know your not the friend you say you are... WOW that is a possibility!!! Will you own up to that you are selfish and not the true friend or will you be the friend you expect from others? What will it be? Xxandar

Ask Xxandar will be here monthly but can also be found on our Facebook page, Ask Xxandar!

ENTERTAINER OF THE MONTH

Savannah Sunset-Bordeaux This bitch came out the gate at the Gay Pride Contest hunnies looking to grind up her competition! Savannah has definitely made a mark for herself, being a part of the 39th reign for the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire, a cast member of Lip Service, Divalicious and now your Miss Gay Pride of All Colorado 2013 - 2014, Savannah has made a splash into this community that few have ever accomplished! There’s an article about the Gay Pride Contest later in this issue, but this chick stood out from her competition as she embodied grace, beauty, talent and charisma that hasn’t been seen in awhile and being so fresh in the community only makes it THAT much stronger... Do I smell a national

competition heading this bitch’s way??? Maybe EOY or Gay US of A? Who knows, but guaranteed, you will want to check out this one’s performances as she rocks the house! But that really isn’t surprising when you have a mother like Jenae Bordeaux and a sister like Sierra SunsetBordeaux! That lil family is just wreaking with talent! Keep it up Savannah, Denver’s watching you!!!!!

To Tip or not To Tip? Tipping your service provider (ie, Hairstylists, servers at a restaurant. Etc.) is a HUGE part of paying for your service. My personal philosophy is this: If I cannot afford to pay the bill, plus a 20% tip, I cannot afford to go there! Your hairstylist works very hard to get their license, which allows them to do hair. They also (if they are a great stylist) work even harder and pay more money to continue to get education throughout their career to keep up with the latest and greatest to keep you looking your best. They also take personal pride in the custom looks that they are whipping up for you! If you fail to tip your stylist, or fail to tip them what they are worth, they often take it personally. I am often asked what is considered a “good tip”. Well, here you go! In the U.S., it is customary to tip 10% to 20% of the cost of your service. That means that if your service costs $200, then a 20% tip would be $40. But it isn’t always such a hard and fast rule. The more pleased you are with the service, the more you tip. Take for example: Your stylist has taken the time to perfectly formulate the color that they are going to apply to your head. They apply the color (which takes time) and then they leave the color on your hair to process. Then it is rinsed out, they cut

and style your hair. They take their time to give you a cut that you want, that will work for you, and that is actually going to give you the outcome that you desire. Usually this type of service takes anywhere from 1 and half hours to about 3 hours. Yes, this IS their job, but you are paying for the service itself. It is customary to tip to show your appreciation, and to let your stylist know that their work is valuable to you. Or: Your hair extension appointment ends. You’ve been sitting in the chair for anywhere from two to eight hours while your stylist has been carefully installing your brand new hair extensions. Not only did he/she wash and clarify your hair before installing, but they took the time to blend and style your hair after she was done to make sure your new hair looks completely natural. Now it’s time to pay him/her, and you’re wondering how much to tip. Stylists do usually expect to be tipped, and they expect the tip to reflect the quality of the service. If they get a big tip, they know that they provided an amazing, over-the-top experience. A tiny tips sends the message that there was something seriously lacking. Most stylists agree that 20% of the total bill is

by Travis Walgreen

an acceptable tip, although many appreciate whatever their clients can give; But PLEASE don’t just tip $1. That is the biggest slap in the face to a stylist. Unless, of course you think that the service you were given was only worth that – in which case, you need to have a talk with your stylist! One stylist said that when tips in her salon were dwindling, they posted a tipping chart to help clients figure out how to calculate tips. Tips skyrocketed because many just weren’t aware tipping was expected. Would this type of thing help you out, or irritate you? So next time you head to the salon, consider tipping your stylist. Unlike a waiter, he’s/she’s spending all of her time working on you, and you alone most of the time. We stylists don’t have 6 clients going all at once like a server! And if you like his/her work, you want to show your appreciation!

Gay Pride of All Colorado Pageant Saturday night, July 20th, 2013 was a night of nerve wrecking competition! This was a contest that beat the house down. The heat was sweltering... quite literally cause the A/C didn’t seem to be working anywhere!!! Simon Rump took winner for Mister, and as they congratulated him at the meeting held the week before for winning (hahaha) he came out the gate showing what he can do. He came out in his theme for the night as Gluttony. Wearing a lime green shirt covered in cheetoes, chips and snacks, being carried down the runway in a wheel barrel by his dresser, Fred Valdez. That set the tone for the night as the two real girls, Ladycat De’Ore and Anabella LaFontaine took the stage representing in their own way, a vision of lust. Anabella covered in leather and Ladycat in a nude lace dress with a man’s body glittered over her “nasty parts”. Then came the drag queens, Daniella DeCocteau represting Lust in a beautiful red dress and Savannah Sunset Bordeaux representing Vanity covered in head bandages and carrying a syringe of collogen. Then came the talent portion of the night. Simon showed off in a rendition of Sweet Transvestite that I have never seen before, Anabella did a version of a mermaid, Ladycat did a dance routine, Daniella sang live and Savannah came out in a box. If you want to know more you should have been there! Then it was on to the club wear portion of the evening! I have to say noone disappointed in this area of the competition! Everyone brought the New York City Club Kid to life. Drama! Drama! Drama! Looks from every sector of the scene were shown and they all looked amazing!

In the end, it had to come down to three winners, but in my personal opinion everyone won that night. The competition scoring was a three point difference with the Ms. Category and only a five point difference for the Miss category. Everyone brought their A Game and it showed to everyone, not just the judging panel but everyone in the room. Denver’s competition certainly is getting back to where it belongs and I want to thank Brandi Roberts and Martini Monroe for a very exciting evening and hope to see great things from the winners, Anabella LaFontaine, Simon Rump and Savannah Sunset-Bordeaux in this coming year! Congratulations to each of you!

The evening wear portion was just as amazing as everyone wore something different and represented themselves well. During the Question and Answer period of this area of the competition everyone gave props to Daniella’s answer as well as Ladycat’s as they were the highest scored in points for Q&A, one being If you were a shovel, which part would you be and why and Ladycat answering I would be the handle so that I can give strength to the spade to lift and carry through in every challenge that comes along.

SEX HEALTH AND YOU: A GUIDE FOR MEN Hello again my loves for another body arousing experience and a deeper look into sex health. With the fact that we live in a world that is surrounded by telling us that we need to keep in shape and stay fit, trim, and healthy or we die; sex is one of the best ways of doing that. I know. I know. I can hear it already… What about us that were born big boned? I’m not judging you. I want you to know that sex will keep your heart beating which makes that blood flow, it clears your sinuses, it releases endorphins, it relaxes you, and sweating is good for the skin. All in all it is still sounding better than a gym. Sign me up!

One cause of prolonged erections is medication used to treat erectile dysfunction. This is a rare side effect of pills like Viagra, but occurs more frequently when this type of drug is injected directly into the penis. Oh, did I forget to tell you about this part up about? Yeah, sorry about that…. Good luck though. This condition can also occur as a result of certain psychiatric medications or even coke use.

Remember though; where there is sex and health, there are health issues that you might want to address with your doctor. Men, you are first.

Premature Ejaculation: The not so silent killer of everything. Think of it. You have that moment where you get someone in the bed and you just start going at it like mad men and then 3 minutes later it is over. Come on. Join me with the scream that you are going to do knowing that you will be getting nothing out of this situation. NOTHING!!!! *screams* Okay, if you say that you have never had to deal with this you are either a liar or… Nope, you are liar. You have been on either side of this at one time or another. Good thing that nowadays there are gels that can be used to make numbing happen so that you won’t be overwhelmed by the sensation of sliding inside. There is everything from sprays to pills, pills, and more pills. Just remember to check all the side effects. I thought about putting them all here, but I have no reason to scare away a good penis. Hopefully, you have a good enough penis that you won’t really have to worry about things like that. Honestly, it isn’t your fault that you can’t hold it back for a few more moments so that someone could get off in the parking lot. WHAT?? Don’t judge me!!

Erectile Dysfunction: It means that you can’t hold an erection due to loss of blood flow or slowing blood flow to that area of the body. If you are working hard and stressing and there is nothing happening then you should see a doctor and figure out what is going on. They have everything from pills to surgery to take care of your little man’s little issue. One of the many things that they do advise you to do if this has become an issue is exercise, quit smoking and find ways to avoid stress. If that doesn’t work don’t hesitate to try out Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis. Quick and easy, but not cheap. Remember, they also have those amazing devices called the penis pump. It is a sure way to get the blood flowing though they have some nasty side effects. Anything from numbness, pain, bruising, and red pin point dots under the surface. Really, the best thing about erectile dysfunction is that you don’t have to worry about having sex with someone that you didn’t really want anyway. Well, there goes my excuse…. TDS or Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome: Ahhhh, for the guys that have it all and the brunt of all that estrogen. Ladies, you should feel jealous. Men. Weeeellll.. I’m sorry. Think of it this way; with so much research that they have done into sex health there are cures for you. Lack of testosterone cause a lack of sex drive completely in most men and can lead to quite embarrassing situations. The urge hits you as the little bit that you have in your system spikes and by the time that you get that “special someone” home; the thrill is gone. There are testosterone replacement shots that you should have a doctor do for you or you will be one of those steroid looking freaks and there are gels that are safe and easy to do at home with instructions and no one is the wiser.

Treatment options include draining excess blood from the penis with a needle, medication to limit blood flow into the penis, or surgery.

Once it starts to flow through your body again; you can get back out on that playing field and kill it like a champ. PLAY BALL!!! Peyronie’s disease: It involves a narrowing or curvature of the penis. If severe enough, this condition can be painful, and may also prevent you from having sex. Deformation of the penis is caused by scar tissue—possibly the result of a previous injury—that appears as a hard lump, more frequently on the upper side of the penis. In most cases, pain during erection goes away after one or two years, although the curvature usually remains. Yes, that dude with the strange curved penis could have a serious issue. Now don’t you feel bad about yourself for laughing at him? *giggles* Strangely curved penis. *giggles* There is only one way to fix this. Surgery. It is painful and leaves you in a dick splint for months. Currently, they are testing other treatment options. Prolonged Erection (Priapism): Men who experience an erection lasting more than four hours should seek help in the emergency room or call me. Wait. Scratch that idea. That sounds a little too dangerous. Treatment needs to occur within eight hours of the start of an erection to avoid permanent damage to the penis.

Till next time… Check your junk. Next month, those dirty dirty ladies. I have something special for you!

Rocky Mountain Shining Star A small pageantry that has made some major headway since Lamar Cooper took it over in 2010. Rocky Mountain Shining Star Pageantry has grown from one crown to over 5 in the past three years. Rocky Mountain has now become the Regional for Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Souhern Colorado Entertainer and Denver Shining Star. The regional pageant now hosts a minimum of six contestants sometime up to 12 or more depending on who is running and who wants to participate. The crown has changed as well. The prelims all have the same crown that Sable introduced during her reign that stands 14 inches in height and is the highlight of crowns in the Denver region. The Regional winner gets a 12 inch crown with the signature purple stones in the crown which Lamar is proud to give. Denver Shining Star’s contest is being held September 21st at Denver Rodeo, and then the Regional Contest is being held October 19th at the Ramada Inn on Zuni and Speer Blvd.

What is it about music? have you ever wondered how music was created, who was the first? was it mimicking the sounds of nature and certain tone in the voice that was held and they figured out the sound was awesome!! lol well this is just my thought process and no history or scientific thought behind it, just how my minds works. Music through the generations has definitely changed through the years but music of today is like the culmination of all genres. You find classical music that now has a techno beat to it and done to Rock and Roll, yes music has changed for sure and still the same. Music has been something to me as just a sound to break the noise of silence. Never really got into it as a kid, unless it was the Kooky Klassics like “Kooky lend me your comb” or “I love onions” or “The streak”! It had to be weird for me to pay attention to it. There are two songs from my childhood that I want to be played at my funeral, yes I am putting it out there so you all don’t forget LOL! The original “Send in the clowns” and “Seasons in the sun”. For some reason they hold a special place in my heart since I was a kid. When I was in High school, that is when music began to really speak to me, I guess the emotional times of growing up was heightened at that point that you paid attention to something else rather than your parents teachings. The ultimate best time in my life that had good friends and I was making money was the summer of 1983. I just graduated and got this job where I was working at Red Rocks for the summer and was basically paid to see the concerts of the stars that spoke to me in my teenage years. What I remember from that summer is the following: one concert that I will never forget was when Manhattan Transfer was here. We got there around eleven in the morning and it was a beautiful sunny day, my friends and I took the 55 gallon bags of popcorn out to the stands and filled the boxes as we always did. That day we were sitting in the front row watching the stage guys setup and filling the boxes, then it happened..... THE SOUND CHECK! The group came out and did 5 full songs and we were the only ones in the audience! OMG I was in HEAVEN! We had our own private little concert!!! Watching the parking lot that they bring the stars to, we saw the white van come in, driver gets out and comes around to open the sliding door, when he did that, Billy Idol fell out backwards onto his back with a bottle of booze in his hand.... then during the concert preaches to the audience that booze is not the answer! LOL I don’t know if it was that because he fell out of the van and he had that realization, but still was a damn good concert ! Julio Inglesias... from what we saw filling the popcorn boxes, he was an ass, not a cloud in the sky, high noon and he comes out to do a lighting check and yells at the guys for not setting it right. We were like WTF? But it was seeing and meeting Willy Nelson back stage that made that night! And NO, we did not stay for that concert! But it was the Greatful Dead 3 day Concert that I was scared as hell to work but it was the best one, all the love that was there and we did not run into anyone that wasn’t a calm, happy person..... wonder what got to them about the music!?!? Enough about me and yes I have more stories of that summer but this article is about the DJ”S that make the sounds and about the raves/music concerts. DJ Christopher and DJ Organum, were awesome to do a Q&A for me... So folks, On with the show.....enjoy!!

Please Don’t St MC: So what is your name? I go by DJ Organum MC: Tell me about the music festivals and Raves, what is it about them that you like? Raves still get a bad name it seems. People tend to associate them with a lot of drugs. That being said yes. They are there, but just the same as any concert. They appeal to certain people and the rest don’t understand them so they almost fear them. But in the grand picture, there is a lot of PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) and everyone shares the common bond of music. Raves, festivals and just EDM in general is a place for the normally, “Not normal.” In short Raves and Festivals don’t just bring people together with music, instead it uses music to bring people that don’t want to be normal with people of the same feeling. The quote that I would like to share is from a great dj and a great person. Kaskade (a sort of response to an article the LA Times wrote.) “as far as a music culture goes, EDM is the one who will accept the kids on the outliers, the ones who get bullied, the ones who feel like they may not quite fit in. This community is exceptional in its ability to bond all types together, and I am not exaggerating when I say it saves lives. Our audience is intelligent and kind, discriminating only in regards to which sound they like best. Our audience is unprecedented in their drive to proactively support each other.” ~Kaskade (found at http://thisisadynasty.tumblr.com/ post/42312760192/no-one-knows-who-we-are ) MC: What makes you different than other dj’s if it does and why? What is it about music that you feel, that speaks to you? Is it the lyrics, beat etc…? I don’t know how different I really am. I like a song, I buy it. I buy it, I play it. It can be hard. A lot of night clubs frown on amateur DJs using big hit songs. And yet they are big hits for a reason. I think I speak for all DJs in that we do it for the crowd. Everyone is looking for that “Big break” and yet when it doesn’t happen we still have the crowd. As far as what about music speaks to me. I feel it’s the release. Picture being in a sea of people when one of your favorite songs drops. Suddenly there is a state of euphoria. At that point nothing else matters. For that split second you are united in solitude. Then the snap back to reality. Your hands are up and your jumping with thousands of other people around you. I can say with my head held high that I have choked up on these moments. MC: Growing up what was the Genre of music that you most listen to? Ha. Well it kinda came in waves. I started with country. You could always find me singing Garth Brooks songs when I was a kid. Somewhere along the lines I started listening to RAP and R&B. I don’t remember ever buying CDs or anything. I guess it was just the cool thing to do. Then I found the beauty of trance. By that time I was learning to listen to a little of everything. These days I listen to hits, but I have a soft spot for good `ol country and EDM. MC: Your new to being a DJ, How did you get your start?

top The Music! You know it’s strange. My brother, Maddyco, was on records for a long time. One night I was out and there was an open DJ event going on. That was the point that I wanted to learn just so I could get in on that open DJ night. But I was shy and afraid to fail so it wasn’t for a year after that that I finally got on his equipment and tried. Can you say hooked? Started at his barn down south Colorado. We could be as loud as we wanted to get. And that is still our playground and retreat. As well I still love playing on old school vinyl. It’s an art that is slowly fading out. My brother and business partner has been my largest hinge of support and knowledge. I wouldn’t be doing this if he wasn’t there giving me good lessons, and a little competition. Story By: Morgan Craig

MC: Where and when did you get your start being a DJ? DJ Christopher (DJ): The first paying DJ gig was in 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas at a Country Bar called the 651. It’s now known as the Rainbow Lounge. MC: What is it about music that you feel, that speaks to you? Is it the lyrics, beat etc...? DJ: Good question. I would have to say all the above. But without great lyrics you really just have the music…which isn’t a bad thing sometimes. It takes a great beat to catch the audience and amazing lyrics to get you to remember where you were when you first heard that song. MC: Growing up what was the Genre of music that you most listen to? DJ: I grew up listening to Country actually. My dad would always have WBAP 820 on every morning as he got ready for work. Even on weekends, the breakfast table included…yup you guessed it WBAP. Granted when I finally could have my own radio/stereo in my room I listened to everything. For some reason I can always go back to country. Personally I think it has a little more of life in it. MC: What makes you different than other DJ’s if it does and why? DJ: Well first I don’t use a play list. I may start a set with a few songs in mind that I want to play and go from there. I prefer to play for the crowd and you can tell what they want to hear just by watching the body language or requesting things. MC: Have you ever mixed sounds from different types of music to make one and how did it turn out? DJ: Yes. I have tried my hand at a little mixing production. I think it came out alright for just doing a little dabbling in it. First time I ever did it cassette tape was still around and I did a mash up of all the versions of “I Will Always Love You” I was rather surprised on how it worked out and so was my listeners at the club that night. I recently did a mash up of a Celebration remix and President Obama’s Speech from the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this past year, which I incorporated it in my latest Vital Beats Podcast. MC: What system do you use and why is that? DJ: Well I have used just about every form of media out there. I recently (two years ago) switched to a Laptop with the Virtual DJ program. FM: Do you find that people don’t care for your choice of equipment that you use? DJ: Oh, I have heard it all. From “You aren’t a real DJ.” To “why do you use a sync button.” But what they fail to understand it’s not the equipment you use but the understanding of music and how to beat match. Yes, the program makes my job a little easier…but not from what people think. It makes it easier by trying to find songs and artist. If you have artist or a few characters of the song and the program starts populating everything that has those characters. OH, and back to that Sync button. I can say I have never used it.

MC: Where do you want to be with your music in 10 years from now? DJ: I would love to be doing it full time, which every DJ does. It would be nice to play some of the larger parties around the country…shoot around the world for that matter. MC: I notice on some radio stations they do a mix radio night {100.3 MIX on Saturday nights} In your opinion is this Night club/ Rave style music making it to the airwaves going to be something that will be something you will hear all the time, like during the day in say 5 years, is this a possibility? DJ: Well I was actually featured on MIX 100 about a year ago. It was really cool to get that kind of exposure on mainstream media. As for it being heard on a station 24/7, well when I first moved to Denver back in 1999 there was a fulltime Dance Music Channel. But like everything in the radio biz it fizzled and the channel went away. MC: What do you want to say to someone that would like to become a DJ, or mixmaster? DJ: This business can be hard on you. From the haters that don’t understand your music choices to trying to get a regular gig. Just keep trying and doing what you do and that’s making music. I must say that you have to know the fine art of beat matching…if it doesn’t work don’t force it. It will just make it a train wreck so to speak. Best thing you could do is let a track play out and switch that way. MC: Anything else you want to add? DJ: Well, I’m really not the kind of guy that likes to talk about himself but in this business you have to wear a lot of hats, from promoter, to graphic designer and social media person. So I guess this is where I get to plug everything huh? Well you can find me on Facebook, iTunes, Soundcloud and Podomatic. SELF DE

IS IT A QUESTION OR AN

It is every presons right to have the ability to defend themselves... Truer words haven’t been spoken and that came from the movie Enough, starring Jennifer Lopez where she played a wife who’s husband became intent on trying to kill her. But in the GLBTQ society we’ve had to deal with a lot of oppression and fighting and having to learn to defend ourselves. Queer Impact is a group that gets together and is a free group for people from about fifteen to as old as 70 participating in the group. It’s set up in Cheeseman Park and has been going strong since September 2011, by the area that everyone calls “The Beach”. Obi Oberdier is the man who runs the group, and has been a martial arts instructor since 2007. He’s also security for Tracks nightclub here in Denver. He started Martial Arts because of fear of being hurt while out in the community. Obi was attacked personally while out with someone and then was attacked by a partner in a domestic violence issue. Queer Impact teaches how to handle many different situations from how to diffuse a situation to worst case scenarios. Like different restraint techniques that can temporarily subdue someone so you have a chance to flee. And a recent student had a bad scuffle with his boyfriend when they were both drunk and put his partner in a state of unconsciousness and then left the situation and was safe.

Self defense is very important, however we need to start looking at the bigger question within our own community. Let’s look at the history of the fight for our rights. It wasn’t that long ago when we were horribly oppressed and were getting beat on a daily basis, killed by those that feared us. We’ve had civic leaders killed because they were gay, today we have christian groups still going after the GLBTQ community in ways that are unprecidented. The community needs to rally together again as we are seeing big oppression happening across the globe. We’ve come so far in some countries, and yet they had their President, pass a bill that made “gay propaganda” punishable by federal charges, which means that any gay rallies, or parades or anything that would “promote the homosexual agenda” on the 22nd of July and photos began to come in from the police brutality they began to explain that the main reason for the bill was for the worry of population decline and that he’s trying to promote heterosexual procreation. Although compared to the 60% of Americans that accept homosexuality as part of society, Russians overall only have a 16% acceptance.

Gay marriage is being a lot more accepted tod don’t like the gay or trans community, and are having to use that word because I and we are and beat on. We are still confronted on a daily stand for. Hate crimes in this city are dropping under-reported. Obi says that the success rate classes is up but people are also doing it for fit out but you’re also learning how to defend you of surviving can double with a self defense cou have to remember that you still have a ninety p key to increase your odds of survival is escapi

On the 22nd of July, a seventeen year old male a guy at a party, when a woman called him out of guys who beat and stabbed him left his bod but they sliced up his body into pieces. In Jam is punishable for up to ten years imprisonment Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson-Miller pro laws, but has yet to do so and actually has bac in the past year alone in Jamaica there have b transphobic deaths. A year before two men we a University, one was beaten to death by a mo supposed to be protecting him. Everything that is taught at Queer Impact is adaptability. You have to learn and know your surroundings and be able to get out of a situation that you are in, even drunken ability. They split up into teams and create real scenarios so that you would know how to handle yourself in each of them. They have one specifically for women and drag/crossdresser. Most drag queens say well, I’ll just take off my heel and beat him over the head, but what they don’t realize is that they probably wouldn’t have the opportunity to do that because most of the attackers wouldn’t be slow enough to give you the opportunity to do that and you may end up getting more than you bargained for, and who knows if you’d be able to do anything at that point. Always travel in packs. You have a better chance for survival if your not alone. The drag community is always more susceptible to getting attacked because some of those straight individuals who are looking to fight and looking to hurt you are trying to make sure they have the upper hand, knowing ways of escape and ways to protect yourself are always going to be key to your survival.
